As Noel Sheppard reported earlier, in the show-opening feature of its coverage of the final round of the US Open golf championship today, NBC--twice--edited out the words "under God" from its clip of school children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance.
Clearly many Americans were offended and let NBC know about it. Because later in the broadcast, one of the announcers issued an apology. But the network simply compounded one omission with another. The apology spoke of "a portion of the Pledge" being edited out--but never mentioned that the omitted words were "under God."

I’d complain to Comcast corporate as well, they’re the majority owners of this POS network, and might need reminding that it’s not good for business to antagonize the largest chunk of your customer base.
We only have television/cable because we’re taking care of my Dad and he watches a lot of it. His health isn’t great, though, so when he passes, after reading stuff like this and worse, it’s one of our first priorities to cancel everything.
It’s a sewer anyway, F ‘em, and I hope they die in a fire.

These words have been in our National Pledge for over 50 years.
You have deeply offended me, my family and my friends.
You might think it was the right thing to do--so as not to offend those who do not believe in, or are otherwise hostile to the belief in God, but there are far more who do in this country. They are your customers, whom you are supposed to serve.
I think it was a very stupid move on your part and a fairly aggressive act in today's cultural wars. You'd be better served in disciplining those who made an inconsiderate and offensive decision to the vast majority of your viewers.
We will not be watching NBC or any other of your networks. If you want to insult us, we can go elsewhere. We're tired of being treated like naive rednecks who need an education from liberal New Yorkers and Left Coasters. Your network despises folks like me, so why watch it?

Godless Socialists indeed. That is Immelt and (MS)NBC. So....what lackey would they blame this on? We all know it came from on high, Immelt, but what functionary would be blamed, if they had to name him?
When we moved to our presnt location, the cable guy could not understand that we wanted internet and phone, but no TV. He tried to sell us on it anyway advising us of the discount for all three. No thanks! No TV here. I get all my news from FreeRepublic and Drudge.

they left out “indivisible” too. I guess secession is ok with them as well.
