Police have arrested an AWOL Muslim soldier plotting another attack on Fort Hood, it was reported today.
Killeen Police Department have arrested Pvt. Nasser Jason Abdo, 21, near Ft. Hood.
Ft. Hood spokesman Bob Jenkins said Abdo was already being investigated for child pornography before he went AWOL on July 4.
After being detained for acting suspiciously near the base, police say they recovered possible bomb making materials from his hotel room.
FBI spokesman Erik Vasys said today that firearms and 'items that could be identified as bomb-making components, including gunpowder' were removed from Abdo's Killeen motel room.
CNN reported agents uncovered gunpowder, shotgun shells, a pressure cooker, 18 pounds of sugar, four magazines and ammunition.
Mr Vasys says the FBI will charge Abdo with possessing bomb-making components.
He said there was nothing to indicate Pfc. Abdo was 'working with others.' Abdo - who was due to be deployed in Afghanistan - had applied for conscientious objector status in August which was initially denied.
