Wisconsin GOP's stand could reverberate elsewhere

MADISON, Wis. -- A stand by Wisconsin Republicans against a massive effort to oust them from power could reverberate across the country as the battle over union rights and the conservative revolution heads toward the 2012 presidential race.

Democrats succeeded in taking two Wisconsin state Senate seats away from Republican incumbents on Tuesday but fell one short of what they needed to seize majority control of the chamber.

Republicans saw it as a big win for Gov. Scott Walker and a confirmation of his conservative agenda, the hallmark of which was a polarizing proposal taking away most collective bargaining rights from public workers.

"Republicans are going to continue doing what we promised the people of Wisconsin -- improve the economy and get Wisconsin moving back in the right direction," Republican Senate Majority Leader Scott Fitzgerald said in a prepared statement after the victory.

Walker attempted to strike a bipartisan tone in victory, saying that he reached out to leaders in both parties.

"In the days ahead I look forward to working with legislators of all parties to grow jobs for Wisconsin and move our state forward," Walker said in a prepared statement.

Democrats and union leaders tried to make the best of the historic GOP wins.

I’m sure the Baraqqis expected a big win in this, and the ability to trumpet a lot of leftist propaganda.

A wonderful outcome.

Once again, the voters of Waukesha County are all that stood between us and Communism.

This sort of example is considered VERY dangerous by liberals to their cause and stimulus myths.

Using seasonally adjusted data, the 12,900 private-sector jobs created in June marks the largest one-month gain in Wisconsin since September 2003. The state’s net new job gain for June is 9,500 jobs, more than half of the nation’s net gain of 18,000 jobs for the same month.
Many in the past had given up looking for a job which removed them from the unemployment rolls – now they are back to looking for jobs. In June there were 118,800 total entrants to the labor force, up 15,100 from May. That boosted the overall unemployment rate .2 percent to 7.6. Wisconsin’s unemployment rate remains below the national rate of 9.2%

Ozaukee County was the last to report. The Dems rescinded their attack on Waukesha County.

Exactly... Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, Minnesota and many other States are looking seriously at Wisconsin.... even Pennsylvania..

Do the UNIONS OWN Wisconsin -OR- NOT...

**NOTE: The Unions have stepped in "IT" badly... exposed themselves.. not to America BUT to Unions members.. The Union members are virtual slaves... automatons.. robots.. cogs in the wheel.. apparatchiks.. shills.. poseurs.. fakes.. mal-contents.. malefactors..

AND SOME OF THEM DOO NOT LIKE IT.. unfortunately most DO LIKE IT..

AND thats the news... the blockbuster news.. even a revelation to america..

The UNIONS are a political disease.. a gut parasite on America...
YEAH!.... intestinal parasites.. ALLL Union members are either acting participants OR enablers..

AND THATS TRUTH!!!!... READ IT AND WEEP..

“AssPress is deeply disappointed.”

What’s even better is the megabucks that poured into the lefts campaign compared to what the conservatives had to work with. Dollars which cannot now be turned into obamabucks. Soros must be pulling his hair out right now and I hope it hurts!

It sure ain't gonna hurt us here in Ohio!)

btw, S&P just upgraded us, as it downgraded the country. This fiscal conservatism thing might just be working. ;*)

This won't just effect Wisconsin... it will be bad for the entire nation.

It will give unions and the left a win nationwide. It makes it easier for Obama in 2012.

If the unions win here states will think twice about fighting them in other states.

Sir...you were (are) right, of course.

Let's just pray it now works the other way around...

Technically, the author is right. To be bi-partisan, you have to have 2 halves working together. The Governor can say what he wants; until the libs agree to be civil and work together, Walker's words are only an attempt.

it needs to be repeated, OVER AND OVER, that none of this would have happened, had it not been for the ginned-up hatred and Agitprop coming from the whackjobs at MSNBC.

They stirred this up for RATINGS

Liberal ideology trumps employment, any day. After all, you can always go “get a check”.

Republican and Democratic strategists were leery of reading too much into the results heading into next year's campaign in which Wisconsin is expected to be a key swing state.

Something tells me that Democratic strategists would not have any problem reading too much into the results had they been reversed.

Didn’t you know?
Daily Kos is today claiming the KOCH BROTHERS spent FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS, and they were OUTSPENT! WHACKADOODLE-DO!

Remember, just like Obama, nothing is EVER a libs fault.

I'm hoping this sentiment will continue on to us as well. I posted earlier that we Buckeyes must arm ourselves with the truth because the union thug astroturfers have a lot of $$$$ on their side. I teach so I am forced to belong to a union that I have no desire to be associated with. Our staff restroom is the posting ground for their false propaganda. I take a magic marker with me and alter their messages! I look at it like this: If they believe that collective bargaining is a “right,” then it is my “right” to pee without liberal lies plastered on the bathroom wall.

What I’m enjoying most is that the syndicalists pissed away $35,000,000 in funds the rank-and-file are going to be asked to pony up again. I think they’ll see it through a jaundiced eye.
