President Barack Obama collected some big bucks Thursday night at a star-studded fund-raiser in the New York home of movie mogul Harvey Weinstein. Among the guests: actress Gwyneth Paltrow and her husband, Coldplay singer Chris Martin; comedian Jimmy Fallon, designer Vera Wang, singer Alicia Keys, and Vogue editor Anna Wintour, who co-hosted the event. New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo was also there as the guests packed around five tables in a basement room. Hundreds of people awaited the president's arrival on the streets of the West Village near the Weinstein residence, a multi-story brick row house. Weinstein said he had been trying to persuade his wife for three years to have a housewarming party and it had taken Obama to make it happen. "This is a pretty good-looking crowd," Obama said.

In a city forced to close senior centers, fire houses and schools by budget shortfalls, Obama met at the St. Regis with a reported 15 people who paid $30,500 a plate for the privilege. Outside well over 100 police patrolled behind miles of metal barricades muscled into place earlier in the day as hundreds of cars had to be towed to clear way.

In Greenwich Village on two streets and one major avenue more hundreds of cars were towed from both sides of the strees and extra details of hundreds of police on foot and patrol vehicles shmoozed together on both sides of more miles of metal barricades as the tow truck crews worked overtime. 120, mostly media stars, paid the price to rub elbows with The Obama at this reported celebration for gay and lesbian marriage rights.

So this exercize of the friendly squeeze cost the City $3 Millions? That's OK,see. He's their main squeeze - the people who really run the place.

Cities might be better off paying Obama to stay away.

All those white-guilt-ridden celebs, filled with angst and American hatred. Makes you sick.

Why don’t they just give all their money to the government and be done with it.

New Yawk luvs Obama THAT much!

And for a few starlets to be able to rub elbows with him? Why not have the fete in Washington on the cheap and fly the starlets in. There would be $5 million or so left over for Obama then. I feel free to share this “advice” with Rats because they’d never do anything sensible so it can’t possibly help them.

Like the old time Mafia protection racket.

Can just see OBummer telling them, "You pay me 2 mil, I stay away and you save 1 mil, capiche".

That's not their goal.

The policies they support are designed to make it difficult for the poor to move up and the middle as well.

These types love to have power over people. Money is power. These are the types that would go to the Dominican Republic or Thailand with bad intentions, if you know what I mean. Well, they can also take a trip to the Bronx or Sunset Strip and find the same desperate people.

It's not just a coincidence that these same liberals who support policies that keep the poor desperate are also the same liberals that support legalized prostitution and lowering the age of consent.

I've been told stories about what goes on Sunset Strip at night and how agents of movies stars and the movie stars themselves actually cruise by using drugs and money to attract the runaways kids who left another state to go to Hollywood to be a movie star only to end squatting in different places every night.

Much of liberalism is driven by deeds that are not good.

What’s with this mass “towing” anyhow — surely this was known about for weeks in advance, and if the city wanted to make the experience halfway humane for car owners, who number Democrats as well as Republicans, they would have opened up tow lots to be temporary parking lots and flyered windshields with instructions to park there at no extra cost for the duration of the event. It really did come awful close to “sweep away the little people.”

Oh no! They want the government to take your money.

They don’t care about us. Only on TV do they “care about us”. Washington DC is about as real a Hollywood movie. Off camera they laugh at us. They think they are our bosses. That’s what gets me.

$2.5 Mill? Does anyone else notice that this dude is not bringing in the cash he said he would? The goal was a Billion dollars this election cycle for Obummer.

There are 453 days till the election. He will have to raise this amount every single day till election. I don’t see it happening.

The elitists. They are so laughable with their talks of paying their fair share. Hollyweird needs to be taxed heavily. They are such a waste.

My car got towed. No ticket, just towed to a far part of the city as were hundreds of others. Yes, there was some posting Tuesday afternoon when I parked, but it was spotty and not where I parked. The cops told me they had towed hundreds of vehicles.

The idea being to yack up Obama until everyone and his squirrel have heard about him, I suppose.

It’s half a shame that Trump didn’t run. It would be impossible to beat Trump publicity.
