An effort of imagination is required to accept that people will kill you for no better reason than that you are who you are, and not because of anything you might have done. Of course Hitler and Stalin ordered the killing of millions on just these grounds, and many lives were lost in order to remedy the consequent breakdown in civilization. September 11 heralds another such breakdown, and it too will be hard to remedy.

I don't need imagination, after seeing how the Left has treated Sarah Palin and her family.
Was about to get in a twitter war with an otherwise very bright guy, who made the statement that they don’t hate us because we are free, but hate us because we are ‘over there’. I decided not to get into an argument unlikely to impact his opinion.
They in fact do hate us because we are a free, non-Muslim nation. It is a core of the religion, and there is an unrepairable divide in the cultures. There’s places religion and state as one, with religion establishing the state’s role and rules.
In WW2, we fought the Nazis and the Japs and got the job done in 4 years. Today, we can’t name the enemy and if we do name the enemy, we have to use a disclaimer that not all of the enemy are actively trying to kill us. If we do kill the enemy, we’re cautioned against feeling good about it and if we capture the enemy, we have to treat them like a shoplifter.
But, if they call us the enemy or kill or capture one of us, we’re supposed to “understand” their motivations and resist our “islamaphobic” impulses.
That’s tough set of ROEs!
Wow. Your rant ought to be posted across the internet for all to see. That was short, brilliant, and hit the nail so square on the head, that it went in with a single blow.
Outstanding.
Ping! for the best post/reply of the day! You are a genius of hard hitting brevity.
I am sending it to my entire mailing list.
It deserves its own thread.
May I borrow that for a FB post on Sunday?
Aw shucks...it weren’t nuthin’!
Of course. Just give me credit. Everyone can spread it around all they want.
Bravo Bryan!
