NRCC on Nevada victory: ‘Democrats just saw their 2012 playbook fall apart’
The Daily Caller ^ | 09/14/2011 | Alexis Levinson

Posted on 09/14/2011 6:26:55 AM PDT by markomalley

Late Tuesday night National Republican Congressional Committee chairman Pete Sessions painted the Republican win in the special election in Nevada’s 2nd Congressional District as a snapshot of the problems Democrats will face in 2012.

“Democrats just saw their 2012 playbook fall apart as Nevada voters refused to buy Democrats’ Medicare scare tactics and misinformation campaigns,” Sessions wrote in a statement. “This election sends Democrats another warning that Democrats up and down the ballot next year cannot escape accountability for their failed economic policies.”

Medicare policy was a major focus in the ad war between Democrat Kate Marshall and Republican Mark Amodei, but the issue was not as effective for Democrats in Nevada as it was in the special election in New York’s 26th Congressional District earlier this year. In NY-26, Democrat Kathy Hochul pulled off a surprising upset in a Republican district.

“Nevadans have handed an unpopular President Obama and his party yet another rejection message for making a bad economy worse,” Sessions added.

The Nevada Republican Party took a similar tack, calling the election a rejection of the Democratic agenda.

“Mark Amodei’s election is a resounding rejection of the Obama–Reid–Pelosi agenda and of bigger, more expansive and overreaching government,” said Nevada GOP chairwoman Amy Tarkanian.

Democrats pointed out that Marshall was not expected to win, but they still did not drop the Medicare issue.

“Kate Marshall fought tirelessly to win a special election in a heavily Republican district that no Democrat has ever won,” said Nevada Democratic Party Chair Roberta Lange.

“We look forward to electing Democrats in the upcoming general election across the state to fight to get Nevadans back to work and protect Nevada seniors from Washington Republicans who are trying to kill Medicare by turning it over to private insurance companies.”

Marshall communications director James Hallinan was upbeat: “Kate Marshall addressed her supporters and volunteers and started out by being extremely grateful for the grassroots support for her campaign, the thousands and thousands of volunteer hours, and the huge percentage of grass roots donations – 97 percent in the last reporting period.”

Marshall faced an uphill battle in the race and was not expected to win since the district has been Republican since its inception. She received no help from national Democrats. And though she outraised her opponent, the NRCC and American Crossroads poured large amounts of money into the race in support of Amodei — money that Marshall’s campaign could not match.

Democrats also lost in the special election in New York’s 9th Congressional District on Tuesday, a race where the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee had devoted significant resources.

I wonder how much voters disgust with the unions have to do with these big wins by Republicans.

I refuse to read to much into the NV2 election. Marshall is a shrill, partisan, 0bot with a crappy track record in office. She only lost by 10% in Washoe County. That is of great concern.

I REALLY wish the RNC and the NRCC would stop telling the dims where they are making their mistakes...how they are making their mistakes...and pointing out the error of their ways. When your enemy is detroying itself...LET THEM DO IT. Pat them on teh back for a good race and say "better luck next time."

Who is in charge of this strategy? If we keep showing them where they are screwing up...they may just STOP screwing up!

They are going to run against the Tea Party all over the nation. This will just cause a major growth in Tea Party folks ready for battle at the ballot boxes. We have been Taxed Enough Already and paying the minimum payment on the National Credit Card is self defeating right? Reason and logic will win out over and over and over this next election.

When you listen Blabbermouth, you kbow it is the opposite of what she says.

I hope the people that have her on a show expose the fact that it was a dem seat since the 1920’s. It is time to tell her to shut up and stop the lying.

I have always wondered why these people, like on FOX, allow this bimbo to be the rude liar that she is.

My 80 year old Mom says that she wants to smack her. LOL

She's doing the job no respectable, patriotic, intelligent, American, Conservative will do! She's the honey wagon of the left, sucking the sheit out of the Democratic party! Stinky, nasty, disgusting, but an important function in the life cycle of the Marxist, Democratic septic system.

Will the GOP find their spine and guts to expose DemocRATs all over the country? Will the GOP climb in the DemocRAT gutter and fight them using their tactics against them? Will the GOP find their spine and guts and expose the voter fraud and demand jail time for those found guilty? Will the GOP find their spine and guts to expose the corruption in this Regime and demand jail time for all found guilty? Will the GOP find their spine and guts and expose the theft of the trillions of taxpayer dollars used to pay off the thug Unions?

I, for one, would like to hear the answers to these questions from the RNC, Boehner, and the rest of the Republicans in this Congress who have been deaf, blind, and disgustingly mute.

When will the Republicans in Congress gather on the steps of the US Capitol and address the American people and tell us the truth about the corruption of this Administration and the intentional destruction of our country and our economy?

Millions of American patriots want these questions answered. These are some of the questions being discussed all across America. Hey, politicians in DC, We The People are impatiently waiting for answers. Meanwhile, more and more Americans are joining The Tea Party.

Man, that's the truth all up and down the SE Coast. NY/Libs moving South, bringing along not only their toxic policies that turned the NE brown but also enough lib/mod voters to elect extreme liberals to make it happen!

Just look at VA, NC,SC, GA & FL, with all of their libs getting elected in these areas.

Time was when Dixie-crats held office, they switched over after Reagan realizing that they were far more conservative than the dims in the NE, especially, so they joined the GOP!

Now, there are dyed-in-the wool libs so left they make Castro look conservative, holding office in the South!

Time to send them packing back to the area they turned brown!!!

Interesting to see this happen in a blue state. Come 2012, I don’t think any red states will flip, but there is a good possibility our Dear Leader could lose one or more blues.

You will not hear that because the Republicans are too afraid that their own complicity and corruption will be revealed.

There is a very good reason why the NRCC and other Republicans keep telling the Donkeys where they are screwing-up — it is all part of the great game. If the Donkeys don't have a clue how to fix their problem, the Republican political elites will ride to their rescue to keep the Great Game going at the expense of the American voters and taxpayers.

What the Republican political elites have not figured out — and refuse to even consider — is they are not fighting the same battle as they used to do in the past. Instead, the Donkeys are committed socialists and Marxists and are seeking not to share power, but to DESTROY the United States. These brain dead political hacks refuse to consider this and like the political junkies they are, keep coming back for their “power” fix. If the Donkeys finally do take over, aided and abetted by these hapless political hacks, their new masters are going to cut them out of the gravy and out of power. The problem is that the current Republican establishment types are simply TOO STUPID to see the obvious. To them, it is all the Great Game.
