Santorum to Palin: A little help, please?
HotAir ^ | Ed Morrissey

Would Palin endorse Santorum? -snip-

I doubt Palin will endorse anyone at all. Palin’s backers and her own political positions and temperament put her closer to Herman Cain, but she’s also campaigned for Rick Perry in the past, too. She’s certainly not going to back Ron Paul or Newt Gingrich, and Michele Bachmann has faded so badly that Palin won’t want to risk her remaining political credibility by endorsing someone who can’t make it out of the first round. The same holds true for Santorum, even if she was willing to forgive the shot he fired last February; after bowing out of the race and angering some of her backers, she just can’t afford to make an endorsement that ends up not mattering at all. Both Cain and Perry are risky, too, for different reasons. Only Mitt Romney is a safe bet to go deep into the primaries, and Mitt represents the kind of establishment candidate that Palin usually abhors.

Any thoughts on this?

Do you think Palin will endorse someone? Will she lead the way or wait till the fat lady sings?

Sarah gave up a lot of influence when she decided to stay a private citizen—she will become irrelevant fast after the primary deadlines pass and she CANNOT go back on her decision—she should get behind her pick now or its may not do any good.

That’s what I was thinking, too. If she waits too late and her endorsement means nothing, she’s done. I still wonder why she waited till the day before the election to endorse Tancredo. He lost and you just have to wonder if her endorsement had been earlier what the result might have been?

She must know people are wondering who she will endorse.

Do you think she might be waiting fir Bachmann to drop out before endorsing Cain?

I think she is waiting for a couple more debates.
I can’t ever see her supporting Romney.

IMHO she stayed stayed in the race until SOME decent conservative emerged.
That was Cain in Fla.

Do you know if there is any bad blood between her and Bachmann?

she will become irrelevant fast after the primary deadlines pass and she CANNOT go back on her decision

I, for one, do not expect her to "go back on her decision", but the Palin family has almost a year to change their minds, and most of that year will be taken up as the absolute sheer disgusting insanity of a choice between Obama and Romney sinks in.

If, on Labor Day 2012 "none of the above" is polling over 30%, something may happen.

I'm just a majority of one, but let me state it clearly: I will not be voting for Romney in November, 2012. Of course, campaigns are supposed to reveal facts allowing people to change their minds, and I must allow for that to happen.

But Romney is SUCH an Obama mini-me that I don't think it will.

First, Palin is “friends” with many of the candidates, so an endorsement of one will offend the others.

Second, if Palin endorses a candidate and he/she loses the primary, Palin’s influence and endorsement is diminished.

If Palin objects to Romney as much as we do, then she will help stop him.

If Palin does not, she is wiser to keep her powder dry so it can be used against Obama.

She endorsed people in 2010 so people may expect it. If she doesn’t endorse someone she may lose some of her ‘king making’ status, for lack of a better word.

There’s nobody out there for her to endorse in the race for POTUS IMO.

I hope she focuses her attention on that chain I’ve posted about my entire life seemingly in which we must pull to flush the Congressional bowl eliminating the Dems, and RINO’s from the system. (as much as possible)

“First, Palin is “friends” with many of the candidates”

Make that ‘was’. Every damn one of them stabbed her in the back. What she knows now is she has no ‘friends’ among the candidates she endorsed...and Santorum took a cheap shot at her as well.

Palin needs to continuue what she started in her interview with Hannity - tell what she expects of the next president. The two expectations she mentioned on Hannity were to get busy developing local energy sources, and to get into action quickly after becoming president.

She states her expectations, citizens listen, candidates respond — it will be helpful for her and the rest of us to pick the best candidate.

There is so much that the independent Sarah can do!

Palin has always been a “high political risk”. Now that she has quit again, and kicked her supporters in the groin, the risk has gone even higher.

I believe she will find (if she is able to face reality) that her campaigning will have little draw - when she returns from S. Korea.

It could be said now that Palin’s endorsements in the future may hurt a candidate more than help him ... only time will tell.

IMHO Sarah should not endorse any presidential candidate at the present time. Let things play out on their own.

Besides if she is so irrelevant now why would anyone court her endorsement. [/sarc]

In the coming weeks I will help coordinate strategies to assist in replacing the President, re-taking the Senate, and maintaining the House. – Sarah Palin

She will endorse. Cain, you can put in the bank, she knows he is an honest none politician, which is how she views herself. Now that she has gotten the stench of mccain off, god I hope she sees, she has repaid the debt to mccain ,10 times over.

Sarah NEVER entered the presidential race, so she could not have 'quit'. Seems to me a lack of reality is not her problem.
