Baghdad (CNN) -- Iraq's Judicial Committee issued an arrest warrant Monday for Vice President Tariq al-Hashimi, who is accused of orchestrating bombing attacks.
The warrant was issued under "Article 4," which is terrorism.
The Interior Ministry, at a news conference, showed what it called confession videos from people identified as security guards for al-Hashimi, the country's Sunni vice president. In the videos, the men described various occasions in which they purportedly carried out attacks under direct orders from al-Hashimi.
One man said he carried out assassination attempts using roadside bombs and guns with silencers. He said the orders came from the vice president and at times through the director of his office.
CNN could not immediately confirm that the men in the videos were bodyguards for al-Hashimi.
Three of the vice president's security guards were detained earlier this month.
Al-Hashimi's office did not answer calls from CNN Monday.

This may all go south faster than even predicted. It's either despotism or anarchy with the Arabs, there's no middle ground.

Well they are arresting the VP, and if it’s true he was involved in orchestrating bombings, they are doing a lot more to prevent corruption and criminal behavior in government than we are currently doing.

War is only the most extreme type of political violence, the most destructive and the least beneficial.
Politics is war by another name.

The brutality which must be enforced upon a country of Islamic followers by it's government is sickening. That said however, the lack of brutality of rule with a deadly fist brings even worse results.
The governance of an Islamic people is not for the, "want to be inspired" crowd. It's pure nasty business and never ending.

The VP is Sunni, the PM is Shi’ite...even if the charges are legitimate, it will be seen as the Shi’ite leader attempting to remove his most powerful Sunni opponents. There’s already accusations of forced confessions, etc. This will quickly degenerate into sectarian strife of one kind or another.

More thanks to Hussein Obama's foreign policy in the Mid-East. Soon another country will fall.

Are you noticing that, with the fall of Iraq, Saudi Arabia will be essentially cut off??

The Sunni part is all you need to know Right. This is the opening salvo of an Iraqi civil war. I figured this would eventually happen. It's just happening quicker than I thought.

They simply are not capable of anything more. Never have been. They are a cultural plague for all eternity, and it's Islam that has, and will, keep them shackled to misery, brutality, blood shed, and malfeasance.

The Kurds practice sunni islam as well, but they’ve always been hated for being kurds. They also may practice a different rite of sunni than do the arab sunnis. I don’t know.
If they came together, it would increase their chances of survival.
I expect to see a general house-cleaning in Iraq.
