New Hampshire Democratic Primary: Ron Paul comes in second!
The Nation ^

Posted on 01/12/2012 11:26:28 AM PST by TIElniff

Almost one in five New Hampshire Democratic primary voters cast their ballots Tuesday for someone other than Barack Obama.

The president still won the primary with a handsome majority: 81.9 percent of the vote.

But the fact that more than 18 percent of New Hampshire voters who took Democratic primary ballots chose to write in the name of another candidate—anti-war Republican Ron Paul was the second-place finisher in the primary with 2,273 write-ins—or to vote for one of the little-known contenders whose names were on the ballot with Obama’s begs a question: What if a prominent progressive had mounted a primary challenge to the president?

Answer: Woo hoo!! Run, Paul, run!!

Question: What do you say to Ron Paul when the mob comes up his driveway with torches and pitchforks?

Folks, it is time for the Democrat Party to march into Obama’s office and tell him to resign or decline to run this year for POTUS!!! The handwriting is on the wall for Obama will not be re-elected and......he will take down the majority of the Democrat Party with him!!!

The people NOT voting for Obama are the 2008 'independents' who forgot to change back to 'undeclared' after voting four years ago. So they show up Tuesday, only to find out they are still registered as Democrats. Since they were stuck with a Democrat ballot; they wrote in Paul and Huntsman. Unfortunately; votes are tabulated SEPARATELY by party...in other words, Paul's vote do NOT get added together...LOLOL!

Idiots.

I can't wait for the Paulitards to explain this one away...

Well he is the only one who understands the Constitution since he wrote it and gave it to the Founding Fathers. And he says it is ok...

Just wait until he gets his butt handed to him down south. He’ll eventually do an independent run thus re-electing Obama. And he won’t apologize for it either. With any luck he’ll kick from old age before it happens and save the country.

I am scared the SOB is going to live forever and do this crap every freaking election until he’s 100.

And he will still have idiot followers.

Hell with his supporters being either half democrat or totally nuts they will run him after he kicks the bucket...

That’s an interesting point. From a statistical perspective, it didn’t change the results. Of the Democrats voting for Republicans, Romney received 1808 (31%), Paul 2273 (39%), Huntsman 1228 (21%), Gingrich 275 (5%), Santorum 300 (5%) and Perry 17 (<1%).

For those that want to use these results to prove who is or isn’t most Republican, Perry is the clear “winner.” For those looking for electability (crossover appeal) Paul wins, but Romney made a very strong showing.

Personally, I don’t think it shows anything since the election results for this group showed that Paul is a bit more popular than Romney among Democrat leaning independents. The rest fell close to where they were on the Republican side.

“I can’t wait for the Paulitards to explain this one away...”

What’s to be “explained away”? I see this as a “cloud the size of a man’s hand” portending greater things to come.

“Ok, that is interesting. In what way?”

Well, first of all, we don’t know for sure who these “Democrats” were who voted for the Republicans. One previous poster suggested that they were independents who had forgotten to change their registration, and so voted for their favorites by writing in their votes. That may be.

But what if it’s not? Maybe they are just Democrats who are fed up with Obama or like Ron Paul’s anti-war stance.

But who’s to know for sure? Obama should find it unsettling that 20 percent of his own party voted for someone other than him. It will be interesting to see whether similar results are achieved in South Carolina and in Florida.

Ok. But that means squat for us in the general, and risks giving us Paul to run against Obama.

Really, do we need that. Does Paul really need anymore attention?

I Kings 18:44: “Then it came to pass the seventh time, that he said, “There is a cloud, as small as a man’s hand, rising out of the sea!”

“So he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down before the rain stops you.’”

“Now it happened in the meantime that the sky became black with clouds and wind, and there was a heavy rain.”

My point is that Ron Paul doesn’t need any more attention, as if it were ours to give him, but that he is going to get it whether we want him to get it or not. His is an idea whose time has come. When the paradigm begins to shift, it becomes self-sustaining. I think Obama has so frightened this nation that the countervailing forces are setting in, and that explains more than anything else the growth of Ron Paul’s influence and following. There is going to be a heavy rain, and there is nothing that is going to stop it, if not this election, then the next, if not Elijah (Ron Paul), then Elisha (his successor).
