Will Democrats' History of Racial Bigotry Be a Problem For Barack Obama?

Well yesterday Daniel Burke’s article in the Washington Post titled, “Will Mormons’ racial history be a problem for Mitt Romney?” tried to tarnish Romney with the brush of past discrimination in the Mormon priesthood. Burke states that “Until 1978, the LDS church banned men of African descent from its priesthood.” But if the actions of others in a group you belong to reflect on you then should Obama be tainted with the racial bigotry of the Democratic Party. For none other than Bull Connor was a Democrat and the history of many elected Democratic who were historically significant racists is well documented and was tolerated by their party. Bull Connor was also a member of the Democratic National Committee. That’s the governing board of the national Democratic Party, the one currently chaired by Debbie Wasserman Schultz.

Not sure if Mr.Burke’s guilt by association would have painted President Kennedy as anti-women’s rights given that the Catholic Church won’t allow women in the priesthood. But my guess is Mr. Burke and the Washington Post would find an excuse to hold a different standard for Democrats.

Anyway, this is clearly the angle the progressive Main Stream Media will work in the months ahead. Get ready for Obama surrogates like Chris Matthews to push this theme. Come to think of it Mr. Burke, isn’t Chris Matthews one of those anti-women Catholics?

No problem. The Repubs, the Stupid Party, have let all of their racial justice history be stolen by the libtards . . .

So, now we are the Bull Connors, the KKK, the George Wallaces, the Robert Byrds in history, altho all of them were dummycrats. Just look at how the KKK, a decidedly dummycrat party creation, is now a Republican Party creation.

And since our public screwel kids are being taught heavily racist American History, the Repubs will pay for this. You do notice, don't you, that Lincoln is very seldom if ever identified as a Republican.

This is a bit of a kick. While Democrats are preparing to scorn Mormonism, Romney is playing the religion card on conservative evangelicals, trying to shame them out of bias towards Mormonism. Problem is, religion is a choice for most people in the West, not genetics, and many of us regard Mormonism as a bad choice, like Islam. The religion card could backfire. The best Romney can hope for is that a lot of conservative evangelicals will be willing to ignore his religious ties, and his scorched earth policy towards Newt and conservatives is not going to make that easy. Whatever Romney does will be associated with his religion.

Whatta laugh. NO ONE is going to bring up the Southern Democrats and 100 years of Jim Crow.

People on this forum babble about this all the time but the fact is that the Solid South went south a long time ago: the Democrat party is the party of non-whites now, and there will be no mention of LBJ, Orval Faubus, George Corley Wallace, Lester Maddox or any other segregationist that ran on the Democratic Party ticket after Reconstruction.

Forget it. The Dims swung way left in the 1920's and never came back: it was only a matter of time before the Southerners found themselves isolated. Now they register Republican, a product of the Southern Strategy of Richard M. Nixon, but they have about almost nothing in common with the Rockefeller Republicans except their disdain for the Federal government...but for entirely different reasons.

If the Republican Party wants to position itself as being in a race to see who can outpander who to non-whites, and thus be proven "not racist", then that's a race they can't win and still be "Republicans" - the Dims will always steal, print, beg, tax and take more money to buy votes. It's a race to bankruptcy and it's pretty much finished - we're there.

So get over it. As soon as Romney gets the nomination, all the bad things about the Mormon cult are going to come out: contempt for everyone else ("gentiles"), institutionalized racism (everyone else did too, they just waited too long to ditch it), mistreatment of women (child polygamy still), insularity, the whole loopy Utah financial crime scene (land of the multi-level marketing scam), etc.

All they're doing is waiting for the suckers to step in the doo-doo to unleash the barrage, and that will be it. They will paint the guy as a whack job cleverly hiding behind a soft exterior, and way more off the wall then Barack HUSSEIN Obama, who will be portrayed (again) as a Noble Victim, instead of the foreign, anti-American alien he is.

The 22 mil a year Mittens gets from clipping coupons isn't going to help that effort either. Not exactly a guy that unemployed semi-conductor engineers in Dallas can relate to.
