Dick Morris: Obama’s sneaky treaties By Dick Morris - 02/07/12 06:53 PM ET

President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton are entering negotiations over — or seeking ratification of — five treaties that could radically limit our national sovereignty and the reach of our democratic institutions. Particularly scary is that the treaties, once signed and ratified, have the same status as constitutional law and cannot be altered or eclipsed by Congress or state legislatures. And their provisions must be enforced by U.S. courts.

LEGALLY BINDING Treaties would have to be entered into in a LEGAL way; i.e., Approved by Congress, no?

The Obama Administration is out to destroy out country. These treaties must be blocked and or declared null and void by future administrations.

Do you notice how the MSM is covering this up?

Approved by a 2/3 vote of the Senate. Fortunately even a few RINO defections don’t give the ‘Rats the needed 67 votes.

I’m not sure I’d fault the MSM for “covering up” negotiations that have been dragging on for years, in I think every case from well before Obama took office, esp. when any 34 Senators can stop a treaty.

It would be news if they were being presented to the Senate, but while it is proof of the unhealthy attitude toward U.S. sovereignty this administration and a fair bit of the “permanent” bureaucracy in Foggy Bottom has, it hardly represents a news item.

Nonetheless the risk is there and we should not relax one bit for we know how deceitful this administration can be.

I don’t believe the Senate will ratify any of the five treaties, and they won’t if we keep our guard up!

The Constitution is the Supreme Law of Our Land and it is going to stay that way!

How confident are you that Our Man Mitch can round up 34 votes against these assaults on our sovereignty?

In fact, how confident are you of HIS vote?

This is ourageous. All of them are bad, but I’ll speak specifically about LOST. My husband has had nearly 50 years of developing offshore oil equipment, and he holds 8 patents. Currently, we manufacture devices for larger companies to incorporate into their systems.

It takes millions of $$$ for the oil companies and their assorted partners to develop this technology. The very idea that it would be turned over to somebody else is the very essence of nationalization.

I am so angry that I can hardly speak.

The rest of it is bad too.

How can anyone be surprised?

He put a moratorium on deep water drilling, sending the drilling rigs scampering off into friendlier parts of the globe.

He used our money to back a Brazilian deep water drilling expedition and Brazil sells the oil to China.

His good friend, Andrew Stern, spent half his time in China building up a global union.

He bailed out foreign banks.

His good friend Jeffery Emmelt of GE wants to give jet engine technology to China. GE pushed for the mercury bulbs that are made in China. The high speed rails will be built by the Chinese and GE.

A bridge in the San Francisco Bay is being built in blocks in China, to be assembled by Chinese.

He supported the Occupy Wall Street stooges that were preceded by visits to Egypt by his friends Jodie Evans, Ayers and Dohrn and Code Pink in 09. Occupy Wall Street was organized by Otpor

Their first public event was September 17, 2011 and called the US Day of Rage, named after Obama’s buddy Ayers’ Days of Rage in Chicago in 1969.

Adbusters received their funding from Obama’s friend George Soros and from The Tides Foundation, created by Drummond Pike, a close friend of ACORN founder Wade Rathke.

No, they have NOT lost their minds.
They are totally aware of what they are doing to our Country, and are pursuing it with wicked intent!

There is a KJV scripture which speaks (paraphrase) of certain people “working wickedness with both hands diligently.”

I think that is a pretty good description of the Obama Administration.

I would have expected better from Dick Morris. The danger of Obama is not in his "treaties" the danger lies in his potential ability to make appointments to the Supreme Court. To date the law of the land on treaties is most clearly stated in the consistent application of the Constitution by the Supreme court. This was most recent and unequivocally stated here: "This Court (Supreme Court) has regularly and uniformly recognized the supremacy of the Constitution over a treaty." ‑ Reid v. Covert. October 1956, 354 U.S. 1, at pg. 17.

I’m not sure he has to round them up. I think there are 34 who will do the right thing anyway. (On some of the issues, Lieberman will go the right way!)
