NO. Rush made his remarks based on 'press releases' , not a transcript of what she said. And what she said is that all her friends at Georgetown are sluts.
However, according to her (statement to the media, not congress)'testimony', all her friends will be having lots of babies, now that they can't afford contraceptives.
Hopefully Ann will figure out that Ms. Fluke is a liar who claims all her friends are sluts.
Except everyone is going to be listening to his show to see what he says about it now.
He might even admit he was wrong about Ms. Fluke being a slut, and state that what Ms. Fluke really said is that all her friends at Georgetown are sluts, broke, and likely to get pregnant.
That is what she said, is it not?
Or at least in Ellen's dressing room.
That is what she said, is it not?
No. You really should go read Fluke's statement if you can stomach it on other grounds.
The core of Fluke's statement was that she was going to tell the story of six women.
One women (a real candidate for MENSA) allegedly was raped but didn't seek medical care because she knew her healthcare plan didn't cover contraceptives, so she didn't think it covered certain kinds of things related to her ya-ya. As stupid as that sounds, does it have anything to do with being a slut, broke, and likely to be pregnant?
Another woman allegedly had polycystic ovarian syndrome, but despite her physician stating that she needed a type of birth control pill for treatment, the insurance company allegedly interviewed the woman and decided she wanted the birth control pills for sex and wouldn't cover them.
Does that heart-wrenching story have anything to do with being a slut, broke, and likely to be pregnant?
A third woman allegedly she has endometriosis that cant be proven without surgery. But allegedly her health insurer won't cover the birth control pill needed to treat the endometriosis because it hasn't been proven and the pill is a contraceptive.
Does that story have anything to do with being a slut, broke, and likely to be pregnant?
I can hold you by the hand through all of Fluke's carefully written speech. It was designed to show that women need contraceptives for medical reasons unrelated to sex. It didn't say that these women were from Georgetown. Fluke was speaking as an 'expert' on these issues, and because she wasn't an expert, she wasn't allowed to speak to all of Congress under oath - that's why she ended up reading a statement to a bunch of Democrats in front of cameras in a staged circus.
But don't tell me "what what Ms. Fluke really said is that all her friends at Georgetown are sluts, broke, and likely to get pregnant." Because she didn't. And like Rush Limbaugh, I don't think you read or listened to Sandra Fluke's typical leftist statement. Fluke found or invented women who needed the pill for medical reasons and were denied it because it was also a contraceptive. That was the whole purpose of her statement.
Your post is spot on. Its unfortunate that too many are still focusing on ‘her or other women’s sex lives’. Its about so much more.
No, because Rush was talking about the cost associated with the behavior. He just highlighted the wrong aspects.
All of what you said AND trying to force a religious institution to cover the premiums for insurance for items going against their beliefs.
Yes. We had the moral high ground on that issue until Limbaugh opened his mouth and started lying about Fluke.
Now, we'll never get it back. It's not that we're not morally right. It's that we'll be shouted down by people wielding the name of that activist Fluke, and reminding us of Rush's apology, and the fact that virtually everything Rush (and conservative sites) said about Fluke's presentation to the Democrats was false.
I don’t think Rush will touch this again, but what about Hannity or BOR (both Catholics??). Any chance they will outline the points?
The Occupantloads are waiting for free medicinal marijuana because, “uh I forgot...”
“And free Twinkies!!!”
Great Post!
I am so frustrated with this whole deal - no one read her little speech and is running with the slut and whore thing like it’s in there - like she’s whining for birth control pills to have lots’o’sex....whoever staged and wrote that speech for her was cunning - all her references were women over 26 (can’t be on parents insurance) all her references were of BCP for something ‘not sex’ and for an apparent rape victim....
Why on G-ds green earth did Rush do this?
Why are FReepers still going on with this sex and slut crap?
Ugh
There was a fight there - a vetting of her testimony to the press -rip it to shreds - it’s gone now - stick a fork in it and throw it in the trash.
Ugh
Haven’t read the responses here so forgive me if this has been addressed.
Does anyone know of a Conservative auto insurance company that does not back down under liberal assault? So far, I have ruled out AllState and State Farm.
