KNOXVILLE (AP) - The Tennessee Court of Criminal Appeals has said that it won't take up an extraordinary appeal involving a lower court's decision to throw out convictions in the murders of a Knoxville couple who was kidnapped and sexually tortured.

Friday's split court decision is a setback for Knox County prosecutors who were hoping that they wouldn't be forced to retry cases heard by a judge who is said to have been high on prescription drugs.

It is simply horrible to have to drag these families through this again. Shame on the attorneys who are bringing the appeal in an attempt to put the murdering animals back on the street.

Among the most gruesome of crimes in recent history- similar to what the Carr brothers did here in Wichita.

Where is the media outcry?

How far do they expect this society to bend, before it breaks?

F_ck a bunch of white guilt- we’ve gone more than half way on this street. I’ve no tolerance for criminals of any color but I’m through turning my head to what’s going on a 5 or 6 to one ratio.

Sickening isn't it?

Be prepared. The race war is here and has been here for quite a while now.

I’m in the prison business and am used to the skewed statistics vs the actual street population.

Night is falling.

Things aren’t improving,; they seem to be deconstructing exponentially.

Maybe the perps figure they will walk since Holder is the AG. I am sickened whenever I think about the two innocent victims of torture and murder. Maybe we are in the end times.

Have the citizens of Tennessee had enough of this yet?

“Shame on the attorneys who are bringing the appeal in an attempt to put the murdering animals back on the street.”

I’m sorry but you have things backwards.

This appeal was brought by the State in an effort to AVOID a re-trial. Re-trials have been ordered because the presiding Judge was recently revealed to have been a drug addict who was often impaired on the bench and who associated with many criminal types in pursuit of his drug addiction.

These are the most high-profile convictions to be impacted but there are many, many others.

The blame for this goes to Judge Baumgartner and others in the Tenn. Justice System who covered up for him.

I’m pretty sure these verdicts won’t change on a re-trial, but it is disgusting the poor families will have to re-live this.
