People trashing Harriet Miers know NOTHING about her. She was Bush's attorney and he knew her for over 20 years. He knew she was rock solid on abortion and all the social issues.

People who had never heard of her, Left and Right, attacked her because she was his secret weapon and she was from Texas. In Texas, the Democrats launched a relentless campaign against her and even tried to bring the usual "ethics violations". They attacked her friends and the man she dated for years.
