All Weather Patriotism - Olney, MD-Wks. 318 thru 323, Feb 25 thru March 31,2012

Posted on 05/26/2012 5:34:38 PM PDT by trooprally

Seems like a very good way to remember and honor our Marines, soldiers, sailors and airmen who have given their lives over the past 2 centuries is by getting caught up on the Support the Troops Rallies in Olney AARs during this Memorial Day Weekend. Part of the freedom we have is being able to stand on any corner in America and have the freedom to express ourselves. The patriots in Olney stand to give voice to our military against those who scorn and disrespect our brave military.

One other thought is also paramount in our minds. We let our Vietnam Vets down, we will not let our current crop of Vets down. Thank God there are means to let us do this since the biased media does not.

It has been almost 3 months since I last wrote an AAR. I hope to get caught up this Memorial Day Weekend.

Late February through March was typical weather in the DC area. Cold one day, hot the next. Here is the tale of these 5 weeks.

WEEK 318, FEBRUARY 25,2012

Five patriots this week include Legionnaire Halsey (USMC - Korea), Lurkers Bill and Jim, [Mrs] T and myself.

Not many know but Lurker Jim is a Vietnam Vet but is not a Legion member. We thank him for his service.

With this in mind I am going to change how I give roll call.

Five patriots this week include Veterans Halsey (USMC - Korea) and Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s), along with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself.

A Big THANK YOU to [Mrs] T for her continuous picture taking.

This week was the worst of this AAR. Cold and Windy. I had to replace my Marine baseball cap with my Marine ski cap.

BELOW LEFT: Me with Halsey on our right flank. Flags are unfurled from the wind. BELOW RIGHT: Even the smaller flags were unfurled from the wind.

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Jim and Fraxinus responding to passing supporters. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill doing the same. If you know Lurker Bill, he does not wear gloves unless it is really cold, or there is a good wind chill..

BELOW: Army Flag also showing the windy day.

With no pictures of the moonbats, I can safely assume that they were a no show this week. Keep this in mind.

WEEK 319, March 03,2012

Windy again but not as cold.

The 6 patriots this week include Veterans iMacMan (Navy - Cold War), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself.

As you view the pictures you will note in the first picture that the Coast Guard flag is flying along with the U.S.-Marine flag. And the POW/MIA flag is flying in Lurker Bill’s picture. A big thanks goes to Lurker Jim who purchased an Air Force flag, a Coast Guard flag and the POW-MIA flag. He also helped mount them on poles. Our corner has been missing these flags for a while. Not any more. Note: The POW-MIA flag is a replacement of the one that disappeared.

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Jim, Fraxinus and me. BELOW RIGHT: iMacMan, a cold weather FReeper. Seems iMacMan is busier during the summer months so his presence during the cold months is most welcome.

BELOW: Lurker Bill. L. Bill is just Lurker Bill, patriotic and always there when needed. I hope we never talk him for granted.

NOTE: There were only 3 moonbats this Saturday.

WEEK 320, March 10,2012

Cold with a very cold wind chill.

The 8 patriots this week include Veterans Halsey (USMC - Korea), Carl (Army - Vietnam), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), Cindy-True-Supporter (Army - 60s & 70s) and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus and myself.

BELOW LEFT: Carl and Halsey holding down our right flank where the sun is warmest. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill with two DoD supporters. Flags extremely unfurled.

BELOW LEFT: Cindy-True-Supporter all bundled up with Halsey. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Jim and Fraxinus.

BELOW: The whole group of patriots. Blue Air Force Flag is in center of picture.

MOONBATS: One was there at 10:30. The second one showed up late and left early.

WEEK 321, March 17,2012

Saint Patrick’s Day - Finally weather was warm enough to wear short sleeves. This Saturday is the middle of 10 days of upper 70s, low 80 degree weather. This March in the DC area ranked within the top 10 warmest. Unfortunately with several nights in April below freezing, a lot of buds were killed.

But 5 years ago to the day, during Gathering of Eagles I, March 17,2007, who can forget the cold, wind and mud as we overwhelmed the moonbats in DC.?

The 8 patriots this week include Veterans Dave (Army - WWII), Martin (Navy - late 50s), iMacMan (Navy - Cold War), Lurker Jim (Army- Vietnam), and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) with Lurker Bill, Janet, and myself.

BELOW LEFT: Dave and Janet celbrating St. Patrick’s Day. BELOW RIGHT: Martin and Dave

BELOW LEFT: Lurker Bill and flags BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Jim

BELOW: Me and iMacMan. You gotta love his sign.

Being so warm a lot of passing supporters had their car windows open. This allowed [Mrs] T to take some great pictures of their support. In the first picture the volunteer riding shotgun claps for us.

And again the moonbats could only muster 2 on this beautiful day.

WEEK 322, March 24,2012

Chilly and damp today. Our warm spell is over. Being so wet only the Army and Marine flags were put up. Any one remember Clint Eastwood’s “Play Misty” movie.

The 5 patriots this week include Veterans Halsey (USMC - Korea), Carl (Army - Vietnam) and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) along with Lurker Bill and myself.

BELOW LEFT: Misty Lurker Bill. BELOW RIGHT: Carl and Halsey sticking it out.

BELOW: Me with wet flags above.

BELOW: Two moonbats again. Pretty pathetic. Both with pro-Iran signs.

WEEK 323, March 31,2012

Another warm day. But not too warm. Except for Lurker Bill we all have light jackets on.

I have to interrupt the regular sequence of my AARs. This is too funny to put last. BELOW: Moonbats practicing the Obambi Bow to our enemies.

The 6 patriots this week include Veterans Cindy_True_Supporter (Army - 60 - 70s) and [Mrs] T (Army - early 70s) along with Lurker Bill, Fraxinus, GunsAreOK and myself.

BELOW LEFT: Cindy_True_Supporter. CTS is now a “visitor” to Olney since Walter Reed moved to Bethesda.. It is tough now to travel 70 minutes one way to stand for 60 minutes. She holds this sign only when the moonbats are out holding their pro-terrorist signs. BELOW RIGHT: Fraxinus

BELOW LEFT: Me with GunsAreOK. Guns has been busy but this week was the start of several that he came by. BELOW RIGHT: Lurker Bill

BELOW: We lent out the Army flag this Saturday so we replaced it with the Gadsden flag.
