Obama claims most Americans aren't closely following 2012 race at campaign stop

PHILADELPHIA – President Barack Obama said Tuesday night he believed the majority of Americans were not closely following the ups and downs of the presidential campaign.

Obama, who attended six fundraisers in Baltimore and Philadelphia on Tuesday, has not had a good start to June after coming under fire for saying "the private sector is doing fine" during a news conference last Friday.

Speaking at a fundraiser at the Franklin Institute in Philadelphia on Tuesday night, Obama said he believed the good news is that the American people agree with his campaign's policies of moving the country forward.

"They're not following ... the ups and downs, the ins and outs of this campaign," he said.

"But they do have a sense of what's true. They have pretty good instincts about what works and they're not persuaded that an economy built on the notion that everybody here is on their own is somehow going to result in a stronger, more prosperous America. So our job is to just make sure that we get that message out."

Earlier Tuesday, a day after prominent Democratic strategists warned the party's basic message is not working, Obama spoke at a fundraising event near Baltimore and delivered a version of the same speech he has been giving for months, The Wall Street Journal reported.

That would explain his 44% approval rating. If they where paying attention it would be 10% or less!

Unfortunately tens of millions of Americans either do not have jobs and not by choice. Also MOST Americans have a much lower wealth and standard of living that they had just four short years ago. It is Dusk in America, We despair for the hope of Dawn!

“Obama said he believed the good news is that the American people agree with his campaign’s policies of moving the country forward.”

Anyone who thinks he is actually moving the country forward is suffering from liberalism mental disorder.

He's clearly delusional now: He's no longer content to lie to us. He's lying to himself.

Ugh, can he be any dumber, really??

From where I sit, just about everyone is paying attention. Those who barely give anything political a second glance, are asking questions and wanting answers.

Sadly, I believe there truly are some 20-30% of slugs who love what this liar is selling. Had to suffer through a long conversation last night with a dear friend who still lives in CA and is completely and utterly brainwashed. It’s tragic, there is no way to penetrate such deep denial.

We either don't understand him because he's thinking on this much higher plane than us ordinary mortals or we're just not paying attention. In so many words, "The proles are not human beings." Stupid, condescending and arrogant is no way to go through life, son.

I know, I have distanced myself from several....they just are not worth the effort when they refuse to listen to basic facts. You know the drill, it turns into a juvenile discussion of feelings - which has no merit in todays dismal future. This one friend is very young, her father is a dear friend and doesn’t let up on her in trying to remove the blinders.

At this rate, I need to find new friends to replace those I’ve had to leave behind.

Funny how it isn’t just Politics anymore, it's the future of the Country. Tough times call for tough choices.

Some of my In Laws are Obama sycophants. Since the 2008 Election, I have purposely cooled down what were close “friend like” Relationships with them to the point where conversations are few and far between. Topics range from the weather to the Family Pets. That's pretty much it.

Much to my Wife's chagrin, it is generally known that I will not tolerate any Obama worship coming my way. The days of generosity, be it Birthday, Christmas or whatever will end if their Obama love helps to get the Marxist SOB Reelected. Ignorance I can forgive, Stupidity is forever.

We have a few Nephews that will be Voting for the first time this year. They all know how good old Uncle Dave sees the world.

If they use their Vote in support of The One, the support they receive from me will dry up faster that Moochelle’s Hairdo without the Jheri Curl Juice.

lol, your last line was a much needed laugh tonight.

It’s maddening isn’t it?! I can’t fathom how FACTS can be ignored in favor of a ‘feeling’ - it’s always about the same dang crap; the poor and helpless. How is it that the conservatives has allowed themselves to painted into this corner?!

My family is pretty much all sane, sans a couple brother-in-laws. I’m tempted to print charts and such and just flippin hand them out and save my breath! I fear for the next generation, they are either completely uninterested or rabid in their ‘support’ of gay marriage/abortions et al.
I have a bit more success talking to the nieces and nephews, they haven’t decided I’m too narrow minded..

The Day after the November Election will either be the beginning or the beginning of the end.

Let’s hope for the best.

Glad I gave you a chuckle. My work is done. #;^)

Oh, he’s right. Folks won’t begin to follow the races until after summer vacation is over. But, then the bottoms will fall out of the Obama “brand.” Starting with the party’s convention in a hostile state, North Carolina. We’ll see how loved Barry is after his “gay” marriage announcement!

My households income is one third less than what it was three years ago, my weekly paycheck is less than half what I usually make this time of year.

Any luxury is a long gone idea, forget any possible future vacation like to Disneyland, even a local fishing trip is out of the question with higher fuel costs.

I follow the elections, and every single day I see a complete and utter buffoon whining it was somebody else giving him too big of a problem to clean up. I am following this election more so than any other in the past because I want to watch Obama unravel, to see him completely fall apart, to wait for the day that no matter where he goes the crowd will boo him.

To see him disintegrate from the inside out, to see what happens when his veneer finally fractures from defeat after defeat after failure upon failure of his ideology. To watch him finally and totally realize that all the while he had absolute power it was absolutely corrupting him.

The false god made with feet of clay.
