Gov. Scott Walker urged Mitt Romney to develop a more cogent economic message Thursday in order to win over the fickle swing voters needed to carry Wisconsin and win the presidency.
The Republican governors advice was more a critique of style than substance, but he warned Romney that framing the fall election solely as a referendum on President Barack Obama would be a risky bet.
Hes got plans
But I think its got to be, narrow it down to a very simple set of messages that embody the larger plan that he has, Walker said of Romneys fiscal and economic policy proposals at a morning breakfast hosted by the Christian Science Monitor. I think its one where people have to walk away saying, Its not just a referendum on President Obama, its also got to be
I believe that candidate Romneys got a plan that I can believe in.

Walker is absolutely right. Romney needs to work his own economic plan into the campaign’s messaging. Being “not Obama” isn’t going to be enough.
"If Gov. Romney thinks he can win this race just because he has an 'R' by his name and I have an 'R' by my name and voters see that as just about being Republican, that's not enough to win," Walker said. "The way he wins is that voters see that 'R' not as being Republican but as being reformer, that here's a candidate who has a clear, bold plan to get us out of the economic crisis our country is in."
See #5, and I agree with Walker on this.
