There are no longer three branches of government. There is only one. And that means the United States of America no longer exists. The states have no power. The executive and the SC, one in the same, said so with th AZ ruling. That was a warm-up for today.

Judges are just loathsome lawyers in black nightgowns. Everyone who ever trusts a lawyer to care about right and wrong is a fool, including Rush Limbaugh, Ann Coulter and Mark Levin.

Unsubstantiated rumors that the wads of cash in the stimulus were directed to banks outside the U.S. where funds were put aside for Roberts and other "key" U.S. officials to buy their compliance. The decision today only reinforces that possibility. The Golden Rule...the one with the gold rules. Principles, character and good moral compass have no influence over political animals easily corrupted with money.

The Left ran an intimidation campaign against the Court. It worked in FDR's day against another Roberts with FDR's threats to pack the court with extra judges because the Court was striking down his New Deal programs. Justice Owen J Roberts (no relation to Chief Justice John Roberts) was the infamous "switch in time that saved nine."

They hit John Roberts who appears very sensitive to the legacy and institutional prestige of the Court.

If I engage in some of the speculation about vote swapping we heard about the past few days, I'd suspect Roberts swapped with Kennedy so he could write the inevitable majority opinion. As outsider observers, who really knows at this point.

I don't think the ruling is as awful as it's made out to be since the mandate is only viable as a tax penalty. We already knew taxing power, often described as the power to destroy, was essentially absolute in areas of excise, tariffs and income.

We need to look carefully at the language of the opinions and, obviously, it's up to Congress to fix a mess they're making. If you want this fixed, get off your lazy butts and get to the polls, donate, get others to the polls and campaign like mad. That's the only think which will make a difference.

As they passed in 2011, the House has scheduled a repeal of ObamaCare vote on July 11. It won't matter because it'll die before Reid lets it get a floor vote but we'll have a symbol of willingness, we just need a different president and congress to repeal and replace this badly produced bill.

Get busy or just shut up and stop whining.

We need to throw the bums out. Then we need to do the following:

•An amendment forbidding the use of federal government matching funds. These are routinely used by the feds to force states to do things they would rather not do.

•An amendment forbidding federal taxes or penalties for failure to engage in commerce.

This cannot be said enough!!!!

"Scalia walked into courtroom totally downcast."

I believe that.

"Roberts was red-eyed and unhappy as he read.”

If that's true, its because he's drunk with power and still hungover.

I don;t have any sympathy for this scum. Coerced or not.

Me neither. Right now I'd like... I can't say what I'd like to see re: Roberts on a family-friendly conservative forum...

“Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”

```````````````````````
So true, but too nuanced to be understood by the majority of voters.
Would have been better to say “
it is struck down, and only if congress chooses to implement this as a tax it is able to be implemented “
Roberts deserves every vile comment he gets. What he has done is despicable and is a black eye to the very Constitution he is supposed to be upholding.
Roberts can go to hell for all I care.
Heard it earlier...Needs repeating loudly:
John Roberts in his decision:
“Those decisions are entrusted to our Nation’s elected leaders, who can be thrown out of office if the people disagree with them. It is not our job to protect the people from the consequences of their political choices.”
“.....Does anyone else suspect that Chief Justice Roberts was coerced?.....”
**********************************************************************
Usually I would say “don’t be silly”. However, now I’m not sure of anything. It could be that he’s turning out to be nothing more than “wobbly on defense of the Constitution” (a la Lindsey Graham). Or it could be that he’s “evolving” into a statist. Or your suspicion that he is being coerced COULD have a basis in truth somehow.
If he’s being coerced on this, he can become coerced on ANYTHING that the statists want to coerce him on in the future.
In any case, WE HAVE TO DO EVERYTHING WE CAN TO DEFEAT OBAMA AND TO ELECT TRUE CONSERVATIVES TO THE SENATE. That’s the only way we can hope to send reinforcements to the 4-member minority on the court.
Let’s not get discouraged and become defeatist. Time to get REAL BUSY politically to prepare for November..
If I were a congressman I would demand that a bill of Impeachment of John Roberts be included in any bill repealing this act.
Roberts betrayed his oath of office. I expect it from lefties, but when the betrayal comes from our own camp, it is treachery.
IMPEACH JOHN ROBERTS!!
Adoption recordsWhile investigating Roberts’ life, the New York Times was accused of attempting to unseal records detailing the 2000 adoption by Roberts and his wife of two infants born in Ireland[6] via a Latin American country.[7] The Times denied any attempts to unseal legal records and stated that “[o]ur reporters made initial inquiries about the adoptions” and “[t]hey did so with great care, understanding the sensitivity of the issue.”
The Times was condemned by the National Council for Adoption, “NCFA denounces, in the strongest possible terms, the shocking decision of the New York Times to investigate the adoption records of Justice John Roberts’ two young children. The adoption community is outraged that, for obviously political reasons, the Times has targeted the very private circumstances, motivations, and processes by which the Roberts became parents.”[8]
The reasons for the adoption happening in the unnamed Latin American country remain unclear, though it was noted that the Irish 1991 Adoption Act only allows adoption of children born in Ireland by people resident in Ireland.[9]
