The U.S. Forest Service has re-examined the effects of a logging project on lynx habitat in an attempt to lift a judge's block of the Lolo National Forest project.

U.S. District Judge Donald Molloy ruled in June that the Forest Service did not properly analyze the cumulative effects of the 2,038-acre Colt-Summit project on lynx habitat.

The highest density of GPS “Lynx locations” are on heavily logged and cutover “Plum Creek” land. Plum Creek land is colored “yellow” on the map.(USFS is green, state is blue).

The dirty little secret of these ridiculous Lynx lawsuits filed by radical enviros is the fact that the “primary prey” of the lynx, the snowshoe hare, prefers living in the young trees found in regenerated clearcuts.

In a bizarre paradox, the USFS has banned the “pre-commercial” thinning of such renerated clearcuts because of Lynx habitat. Maybe Judge Malloy could order the USFS to clearcut tens of thousands of more acres to create more Lynx habitat.

IMHO it’ll be a great day when that black robed turkey Molloy takes a full and complete retirement.

Yes. I’ve only seen lynx in thinly and newly treed areas next to open fields.

And at least once in a very large clear area with no trees.

Leave those trees alone. U.S. Steel can do anything or make anything a tree can do, and better and cheaper. These people who want to cut down everything that grows, could not produce one tree. Leave them alone.

Environmentalism and animal worship as tactics used to prevent new, domestic, small manufacturing starts will probably go away with ongoing economic and other events caused by those who are not often in very direct interactions with physical realities (controlling constituents behind contemporary politics). Such proud people have no more than an illusion that they can direct and sustain their preferred course of history.

Agenda Uber Alles - the driving force behind the sum and substance of Judge Molloy’s ruling.

When facts do not support the predetermined conclusion of the “Marsupial Magistrate”, said facts are ignored.
