Ann Romney 'pushed Mitt' to consider Condoleezza Rice as Vice-Presidential running mate
UK Daily Mail ^ | August 30, 2012 | Toby Harden

Ann Romney strongly advocated that her husband consider Condoleezza Rice as his vice-presidential running mate, according to campaign fundraising sources. 'I know that Ann Romney was intrigued by the idea of having Condi on the ticket,' a top Romney fundraiser with close personal ties to the Romneys told MailOnline. 'At the Utah fundraiser, she gave an unbelievable speech. 'Ann is a sounding board for Mitt. He values her intuition. Their relationship is the real deal. After the fundraiser, Condi was vetted and she filled out all the forms but she was reluctant and I don't think she was ever going to get it.

Looks like another 2 for the price of 1 Presidency. If my memory is right, Jimmy Carter was mocked because people perceived his wife wore the pants in the family. Now it is taken for granted and acceptable the spouse has a major say in policy and personnel.

HA-HA, didnt Ann say she was worried about rising gas and food prices in her Olivia Walton speech?
I joked that she has no idea how much fuel for that private helocopter costs, her pilot takes care of that.

Condi is a sweetheart but that is a pretty stupid idea.

Laura Bush used to recommend people for George too. I would imagine that is normal. The only thing weird is that it always seems to be woman.

All the ‘promote women’ talk was a bit much at the RNC as if just having the XX chromosome deserves special consideration. Unfortunately the majority of women tend toward nanny state socialism.
Thank God for conservative women but they are few in number.

I would expect that will be the case until we have a married Queer as President

Me too. Rice is good at PR, but was a miserable failure as secretary of state. She was outside her element - another academician out of touch with the Realpolitik of international relations.

AND she was linked to the flawed Bush II regime.

Jorge El Segundo would have done what Laura told him. Its encouraging Romney let experienced people and his own intuition guide him in selecting Ryan.

Condi might have been a great choice if foreign policy was at the top of voters’ concerns. But it’s probably not even in the top ten. They still would have tied GWB around her neck. With her grace and integrity, she may have been able to overcome that.

Ryan was the right man for today.

Count on a semi-worthless UK newspaper to scoop every reporter in the US...

We will all be dead and buried way before they have a gay president....Not a President some think is gay but a 100 percent out gay person. Do not worry about that because that won’t happen for at least 100 years.

RE :”Are you sick of posting this same bullshit? This is the same thing you just posted in the other thread made by the OP attacking Ann Romney.

WOW.... LOL...The wording wasnt exactly the same. I still think that Olivia Walton act was pretty silly.

Attacking? Are you on the Romney campaign or something? You are acting like it.
That Condi idea is pretty dumb. Is yout boss Mitt going to go to Ann for advise?
