Romney to tour storm damage with Jindal today
The (Baton Rouge) Advocate ^ | August 31, 2012 | Kaise Hunt

Republican presidential nominee Mitt Romney will head to Louisiana to tour damage from Hurricane Isaac.

Romney has scheduled a last-minute visit Friday to Lafitte, La., where he will tour damage with Louisiana Gov. Bobby Jindal. The storm canceled the first day of Romney’s Republican convention, and his campaign has been considering a visit for several days.

Romney is scrapping an appearance in Virginia to go to Louisiana instead.

Heavy rains and flooding have contributed to at least five deaths in Louisiana and Mississippi this week after the slow-moving storm knocked out power in whole neighborhoods.

In Louisiana, Romney will thank emergency first responders for their work.

I thought he didn't care about the little people, unlike Obama...

And Obama is going to visit the military today in a trip that his administration says is “official, not political”

Gave me a good laugh when I heard that this morning.

But! But, Obama is personally following the situation, from a golf cart on a golf course, somewhere.

Good move on Mitt’s part. He was there first a fact that won’t be lost on those hit by the hurricane. I remember the media angst because GWB wasn’t down there in the midst of chaos leading the evacuations and handing out water bottles.

Jindal was out in the middle of it, with the rain falling, wind blowing, and surge rising - as a good governor ought to be. I still give Romney kudos for showing up. I have to admit that is better than the attention of an empty chair.

Grudging admiration that the Romney team was ready on Morning #1 (I’d wanted Santorum), with spanking new paint on their planes, to go tour a disaster area that our -resident couldn’t get around to because he was busy lying to the gullible at several universities this week.

Way to go, Team Romney!

Suddenly he’s trying to act like a CIC. Where has he been as our brave men are being gunned down on a daily basis by the very people they are trying to help? Where has he been on Afghanistan at all? He’s been totally AWOL on running the military. This is nothing more than a photo op and everyone knows it. Just as he’s AWOL on New Orleans. We know that Obama loves to talk the talk. It appears that Romney actually walks the walk.

Got to give Mittens props for being savvy enough to grab this.

Obama will get a pass because he has a job. Romney can go about doing whatever he wants. Guarantee that is going to be what the media says.

People are having kittens about Clint’s speech last night, but I have a feeling “the chair” is going to start popping up all over the place. Can somebody photoshop an empty suit onto it?

The Chair already is. There are already Twitter Accounts (@InvisibleObama) and facebook pages for it. They are so funny.

OMG! LMAO! There needs to be an empty chair at every campaign event from here on out! This is just too funny! The MSM is trying to shred Clint Eastwood and are all parroting the DNC “bizarre old man” meme. It’s not working. It’s realy not and I love it!
