A Maryland Democratic candidate quit her congressional race Monday after her own party told state officials that she had committed fraud by voting in both Maryland and Florida in recent elections. Wendy Rosen, a small-business owner running against freshman Rep. Andy Harris (R) in the Eastern Shore-based 1st Congressional District, released a statement saying that with great regret, and much sorrow she was resigning from the contest.
Personal issues have made this the hardest decision that I have had to make, Rosen said Rosens announcement came the same day the state Democratic party released a letter to state Attorney General Douglas Gansler and state prosecutors reporting the allegations against Rosen.
The Maryland Democratic Party has discovered that Ms. Rosen has been registered to vote in both Florida and Maryland since at least 2006; that she in fact voted in the 2006 general election both in Florida and Maryland; and that she voted in the presidential preference primaries held in both Florida and Maryland in 2008, wrote Yvette Lewis, the state party chair. This information is based on an examination of the voter files from both states. We believe that this is a clear violation of Maryland law and urge the appropriate office to conduct a full investigation. A senior Maryland Democrat said the party had been tipped off this weekend by someone within the party about Rosens potential issue. After checking the allegation, the party contacted Rosen on Monday morning and urged her to quit. Local Democratic committees in the 1st district will now meet and vote on a new candidate to replace Rosen on the ballot. The new name must be submitted to the state by Sept. 27. Regardless of his opponent, Harris is considered a safe bet for reelection.

Cheating is now a “personal issue”?
its not too late to replace her?
never mind, those rules don’t apply to Demnocrats
She should be prosecuted, convicted, fined, and her voting privileges suspended for life.
voter fraud is a felony correct?????
It’s treason. A coup d’etat. It undermines the root stability of our Republic.
A fair trial. An appeal. Death.
No punishment is too severe for premeditated treason.
“voter fraud is a felony correct?????”
Max. 5 years and/or max. $250,000.
A Dem voting twice. I’m shocked.
nice necklace .. lottery balls ? fuzzy dice ?
Some one told the State officials who then called the Democrat Party and told them and asked how they wanted it played in the media.
Wow! Not that he needed much help in a relatively safe (as safe as a Republican can get in Maryland anyhow) race, but I was planning to go to a bull roast to support him a couple of Saturdays from now. Maybe I’ll still go just to hear all the chatter.
Just watch...nobama will appoint her “voting czar” for being such a model DIMocRAT...voting twice...that’s the DIMocRAT way.
After moving to Florida, I was pleased to learn you have to show an ID to vote here, but I suppose a lot of snowbirds have obtained IDs and likely vote “up North” and down here too.
Say WHAT? How does that happen? Proper airline reservations?
...after her own party told state officials that she had committed fraud by voting in both Maryland and Florida in recent elections... "The Maryland Democratic Party has discovered that Ms. Rosen has been registered to vote in both Florida and Maryland since at least 2006; that she in fact voted in the 2006 general election both in Florida and Maryland; and that she voted in the presidential preference primaries held in both Florida and Maryland in 2008," wrote Yvette Lewis, the state party chair. She withdrew for "personal issues". HEY! She should accuse the Demwit party officials of "sexism" and "racism".
We think alike.
I would love to see some republican PAC just look up a random sampling of snowbirds and see if they are registered in two states. Just a dozen being prosecuted would send the message.
Absentee ballot in one or the other place.
Tip of the iceberg. The RNCC should make this into a nationwide advertisement.
