Suspect may have been shot by police following a collision with another automobile at the intersection.
Looks like the K9 did his job when the suspect started moving.

SWAT is in a standoff with a heavily armed man at an apartment complex in Chico CA. The residents of the area have been evacuated. These are dark times we are living in.

I know this will sound strange to some but the theme song to the 1970s TV show "Chico And The Man" has been running through my head all day. Those who are old enough might remember the show's opening of scenes from East LA while the Julio Inglesias song played.
The main actor in that show, Freddie Prinze, shot himself on January 28, 1977. I remember hearing about his death right after "Dancing Queen" by Abba played on the radio. Jimmy Carter was president. It was horrible.

Actually, the singer of the theme to “Chico and the Man” was Jose Feliciano.
So sad. Dude was talented and funny, but he had personal demons he just couldn’t shake.
