In a discussion of the "racial gap" in this year's election, Sullivan declared all southerners to be racists and are sliding back into the civil war. "If Virginia and Florida go back to the Republicans, it's the Confederacy, entirely. You put the map of the civil war over this electoral map you got the civil war," he said.
George Will correctly dismissed Sullivan's ranting as poppycock. Will noted that Democrats have been steadily losing the white vote since 1964 and that it has nothing to do with Barack Obama being black.
Will didn't mention it, but one of the interesting tidbits of information from the 2008 election is that Obama won the largest share of any Democrat running for president since 1976 -- not just any black Democrat, but any Democrat. If the country was so racist, how did that happen? He won 43 percent of the white vote in 2008.
But Sullivan persisted in his claim of racism repeatedly calling the southern states "the Confederates" and claiming that every southern state but Florida and Virginia voted as a block against Obama in 2008.

What did Sullivan have to say about the blacks who will vote for Obama at somewhere in the neighborhood of 98%? Did he offer up any reasons why that might be happening again? Remember, blacks voting for Obama is wonderful; but whites voting for Romney is shameful.

95% of Blacks voted for Obama in 2008. If 95% of white people had voted for the white guy, would he consider the white people to be racists? Thanks anyway, Andrew but we know racism when we see it.
Nevermind that in Cities like Atlanta and therefore states like Goergia have been invaded by Northerns since the business boom of the 80's and literally transformed to the point where the local "Southerners" look more like vanishing indian tribes who's homeland has been overrun by outsiders.....like myself.

Sullivan is partly right. I live north of the Mason-Dixon Line. If the CSA existed today, it would include Pennsylvania, not just the south. I am a proud supporter of state’s rights. Sullivan can call me a racist all he wants, but it isn’t going to change how I think about the 90+% of blacks that support Obama.
Of course, in the loony left’s delusional pathetic world, when a white person votes for Herman Cain, Mia Love or Allen West it’s also racist.
