Breaking: Department of Labor might delay Friday jobs report until after the election?

The last big economic indicator left to see before the election is the October jobs report, which is due on Friday. Or is it? The Department of Labor suggested this morning that the jobs report might be a little, er … delayed:

The U.S. Labor Department on Monday said it hasn’t made a decision yet on whether to delay Friday’s October jobs report, the final reading on the labor market before next week’s federal elections.

A Labor official said the agency will assess the schedule for all its data releases this week when the “weather emergency” is over.

They’re not alone, either. The Census Bureau may hold off on its scheduled economic reports until next week. Construction spending was due on Thursday and probably wouldn’t have had any impact on the election, but the report on factory orders was also scheduled for Friday, and that might have had an impact on the general opinion of the state of manufacturing.

Honestly, on the heels of the Benghazi coverup that would be even better than the actual #. Obamian is the new Nixonian.

Has anything like this massive cover-up/firewall of multiple issues ever occurred before in an election year on the behalf of the incumbent?

Not in my lifetime that I recall, and I've been voting since 1968.

Will they claim "bad intelligence"?

I see FR has slowed down to a snail's pace, along with "page not found" messages. There isn't a debate going on is there?

I think everyone knows the meaning of this. The numbers are not good. We knew that without seeing the numbers. But to have it reported that (the numbers were so bad that) the Obama administration/re-election campaign is thinking of not reporting them until after the election can only mean they were worse than anyone thought.

More popcorn, please.

They already know what their decision will be:

If the numbers show significant positive improvement, the report will be released.

If the numbers show negative or no significant improvement, then the report will be withheld.

Benghazi had a negative effect on the Obama narrative for foreign relations, so, they’d rather nobody talk about it. If the economic indicators come out negative, then, the Obama administration would rather not talk about it, and not have the people know about them either.

The fear in the Obama administration can be felt all over the land.

Boom. They will use the storm to lie, cheat and steal the election any way they can. They have criminal minds; no ethics. Lying is second nature. The ends justifies the means.

I believe they will delay them. They would have to report the CA numbers that were left off last time, making the number higher than normal.

My view is that the only number that could come out of this administration a week pre-election is an unbelievably positive one.

So if there’s no report, nothing gained for the Baraqqis.

Yes, but no-one knew about it before the internet. They hid the fact that FDR had polio for quite a while as I recall. We probably don't know the half of what has been hidden by the fifth estate over the decades.
