You can watch the entire video on amazon.com for 99 cents. Well worth it--you see the thinking of Barack Hussein Obama forty-one years before he seized power and began to implement the evil designs of Alinsky on the nation as a whole.

If you're not able to afford the 99 cents, you can read a transcript by the Hoover Institution here:

By the way: if you're an Amazon Prime member, you can stream the show for no extra charge...a lot of "Firing Line" shows are that way for Prime members.

Oh, how I miss William Buckley. He was the first great spokesman of the modern conservative movement. His Firing Line programs were always as entertaining as they were enlightening. I watched his show in the 70s and early 80s. This show from the late 60s showed him in his intellectual and physical prime. Saul Alinsky is quite the slime-ball, but we should heed his words because they reveal the playbook of our political enemies. Thanks for posting. Since, I am Amazon.com prime member, I will check out the other videos as well.

Contrary to published reports, William F. Buckley is very much alive and well, using as little Arab oil
as possible. Among other things I suspect he's packin' a pocket Constitution ;o)

Should have said “Mobilizing the Academics.” I still remember the fat, plushy university professors of the 1980s and 90s in their blue-denim workshirts (usually about to pop off buttons and sometimes revealing a truly ugly bit of white belly-skin). They were the mature phase of the 1968 larvae.

The problem solving that benefits the poor revolves around taking the money from the American working middle class and giving it to the poor (after the current regime first pilfers some of it) until which time the middle class shrinks.

If the government has no money of its own but for taxing us, then what are all the reasons for not evading those taxes, en masse, leaving the regime with no piggie bank? Will they just borrow the money from China?

Right now, we seem to do nothing, but discuss the inevitable collapse at which time we will have no leverage left. It seems tax evasion is the only meaningful tool available to those who oppose waiting around for collapse. Is that right?

Wow, how interesting. I was in high school then, never probably even knew who Buckley or Alinsky were, and their mannerisms and speech would have resulted in my chalking them off as a couple of dorks. But just look at what passes for political discourse today...

As an Army officer, he was part of FDR’s honor guard.

Does anyone know that the most right wing vote in America, the white Evangelicals, is also just about the poorest religious group in America of a very long list, they are 3rd from the bottom (15th of 17 categories).

About 23 minutes in, Buckley really challenges Alinsky on the notion of charity in America.

Buckley insists America is a charitable nation. Then Buckley takes Alinsky to task for going into black neighborhoods and stoking the “victimization” of the people there. Buckley reminds Alinsky that there are people in Russia who currently believe they are “free”, and if a person is told he is a “victim”, he will believe it whether it is true or not.

Excellent stuff.

I was a teen in the 1960s watching Firing Line, and American media was liberal, professors were liberal, etc, like today, and there was no conservative voice except his, on Firing Line.

I remember wondering how he always won, why was he always right and his positions always making so much sense to me, when all the other adults, and intellectuals and important people and thinkers disagreed with him.

In an ocean of liberalism we had John Wayne taking a stand in the movies he made, and William F. Buckley, taking a stand at his level.

They saved so many of us youth, and emboldened those adults who already knew which side they were on, but needed to be supported by bold, eloquent leaders.

Buckley was very well known in the sixties and even made an appearance on “Laugh In.” Groucho Marx was quoted as saying he’d vote for Buckley if he ran for president.

Somewhere there are one or two Ronald Reagan interviews...one in the 60s (where Reagan mentions the “governor of Michigan” Romney) and one during the 1980 campaign...
