Michigan Unions Targeted Obama Enemy: Koch Brothers
IBD EDITORIALS ^ | Dece,ber 12, 2012

Politics: The union mob that tore down that tent outside the Michigan state capitol was aiming at a free-market advocacy group on the president's enemies list promoting right-to-work and other pro-growth measures.

In an editorial headlined "Drinking the Kochs' Kool-Aid," the Detroit Free Press, a newspaper in a decaying city with 18.9% unemployment, opined it was pressure from the Koch brothers, David H. and Charles G., who head a Kansas-based conglomerate with 50,000 U.S.-based employees, that moved Michigan Republicans to make the state adopt right-to-work legislation.

Randy Richardville, majority leader of the state Senate, and Gov. Rick Snyder may have been pressured, the newspaper said, by Americans for Prosperity, whose tent full of seniors and women was torn down by union thugs Tuesday, and pressed by the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC), both financially backed by the Koch brothers. ALEC's model right-to-work bill, it said, "mirrors the Michigan law word-for-word."

Agreeing that Michigan becoming the 24th right-to-work state was a triumph by the vast right-wing conspiracy was the president of the AFL-CIO. "Gov. Snyder showed his true colors today," said Richard Trumka.

"He's a puppet of extreme donors, and he is willing to ignore and lie to his constituents. His action will undoubtedly please the Koch brothers and corporate CEOs, but it will diminish the voice of every working man and woman in Michigan."

The time is ripe for destroying most of the Unions in America. This shadow violent government is getting too bold and time to take them down.

Exactly. In fact the Michigan fight is what inspired Virginia to move forward with making card check unconstitutional.

I want to see at least two more states moving on right to work while the unions grow angrier and more careless.

As an x-Michigander I believe that all the unions should be disolved. They had their use at one time a long time ago but now have become an arm of the Democrat party & a bunch of thugs who take money from the overpaid workers. No wonder shops have closed due to the high wages & retirement benefits that are unable to be paid anymore.

"Drinking the Kochs' Kool-Aid,"

Ok. So it's either that, or "Drinking the Soros Potassium Cyanide."

We have a choice. Water with sugar from the right, or deadly poison and instant death from the left.

Decisions, decisions (not).

Like the unions...Obama is on the side of things past (passed) that just didn't work.

No amount of violence can bring back those old ideas that just didn't endure into the future.

They're dead, Jim.

Unions have a sell-by date...and socialism/communism never worked.

Sorry, Bronco Bamma...but your Bronco Momma sold you a bag of sh!t.

The future is here and now...and it isn't you and your racist, anti-America Wookiee.

You can steal all the elections you want but you can't change the future.

Your ideas are dated and sour and putrid. They don't work.

Sorry dude...but you need to face reality.

The union knuckledraggers are Barry’s private army that he told us about back in 2008. We just didn’t understand what he was telling us.

Any idea what those two states would be-that would move toward RTW?

Just wait until Barry makes sure the Union thugs are as “well trained and armed as the Military”. And they pledge allegiance to King Obama!

I don't know. Maybe Kentucky and Montana could pull it off. A lot of states are fully in GOP hands and any of those would be good candidates.

Photobucket

If we can do it in Michigan, it can be done just about anywhere short of the furthest left leaning states.

Lets go for KY and OH to make it 26, then WV and MO, that would land lock IL as the land of unproductivity...

Do you know why WI is a lighter blue on that map? Earlier I heard Gov Walker say he wasn’t going to pursue Right to Work legislation, so I assume WI for all intents and purposes has the benefit of RTW without having to actually adopt it?

I think they may be gun shy in Ohio. I would say Kentucky and Missouri are probably most ripe for it which will inspire some confidence in Ohio.

I just think that with the union fall inside their Michigan cradle, another couple of states going RTW would create an avalanche.

I made the map and I made Wisconsin a lighter blue because they’re in kind of a limbo.

Every State should be a right to work State.

If a person wish’s to join a Union that is fine, they should not be forced to join one in order to work.

CC...

I got a Cousin, Uber Cop in one of the NE States. I tell him about Tea-Party Conservative things here in MI and he can't believe it, he sees nothing, no signs of Conservative Life at all, his State is as we used to say Morto-bom. Honestly in States like CT, MA, NY, VT, RI, ME and NJ I can never see this happening. Liberty is dead in the minds of many, only alive in the hearts of a few.

Really we ought to give them to friggen France for a buck, and keep NH as a Rebel Free Zone...

How dangerous is it going to be for Union members who will now opt out? What will happen to them on the job with the thugs?

That may be when the real trouble starts. Hope not.
