Warren Buffett says he’s optimistic the nation’s debt problems will be solved, despite the political fighting that’s threatening to put the country over the “fiscal cliff.” …

“The United States is richer than it’s ever been. We have $50,000 or so of GDP per person. But we’ve overpromised and we’ve also under taxed to some extent, so we find ourselves with this great fiscal imbalance. But it was man made. We’re a rich country. It can be solved. … We’ll be able to overcome this problem. America has faced a lot tougher problems than this one. We’ll get it solved.” …

That is some immense waffling by Buffett. Sounds like he is trying to paper over reality, and using onion skin too. Never mind his “overpromised and undertaxed” blather.

Well Buffet baby, maybe if you stopped hiding your income and payed the taxes you owed it would be a start. And as for being under taxed, why don’t all you liberal jackasses pony up and write a check to the government if you think we are underpaying. I don’t see anything holding you guys back, put Your money where your mouth is instead working so hard to take mine!

Hey Warren!

We’re not here to see how bad we can make it!!!

These new taxes FIX NOTHING!

It’s pure THEFT TO BUY MORE VOTES!

There are proven ways to actually FIX our current problems.

Obama has as his highest goal, the destruction of America, the Constitution, and our way of life.

$50,000 doesn’t go so far these days, compared to decades past. In the 1960’s, men making from $5,000 to $10,000 were raising large families of 5 to 8 kids with the wives staying home. Now it’s tough to raise 1 or 2 kids on $50,000 or more with both parents working. The numbers say more, but the costs of living are far higher. It’s wrong to keep raising the tax burden on producers while lazy takers contribute nothing.

I had a look at the BLS inflation calculator just to compare figures; I started with 1965, and $5,000 back then turns into $36,543.02 in 2012 dollars while $10,000 becomes $73,086.03. Amazing what was affordable back then in terms of real wages, and no thanks to commie unions.

“We have $50,000 or so of GDP per person.”

I’m sure the 47 million on food stamps and near record number of underemployed are relieved to hear that.

Everyone seems to forget, it was Congress and the punk that wrote the cliff in the first place, they had a year to fix it and instead did what ever it is that politicians do behind closed doors.

I'm sure everything will work out just fine for Buffet.

Obama treats his political allies well.

C’mon, Buffett, are you not part of the Leftwing cabal that’s trying to intimidate the citizens and destroy the Country?

You’re in no way returning the good will you’ve reaped from this great Country. You should be ashamed of yourself.

Nomenklatura...? Why yes, he IS a part of it..!

As a part of the Nomenklatura system, he speaks in favor of it, smoothes things over when there is worry, etc.

His role is a clear one, and I think he does not like Real America.

I’m tired of listening to this tax cheat. What do you think he got from Obama for spreading his puke regarding his secretary’s tax rate? Follow the money. A dime will get you a dollar the feds drop their case against him for not paying taxes.

So true. My Dad made 5800.00 in 1958 with 4 kids at home and a wife who did not work. How was he able to do it?!

We did not live in squalor, had food, clothes, shelter.

The example I was thinking of, was my dad. He was so proud, in the late 1960’s when his salary finally topped $10,000. He had 5 of us kids to take care of. Of course he cut corners to get by, every weekend he took me to help get groceries at the dented cans warehouse and day-old bakeries where hegot discounted food. But as you say, we did not live in squalor or lack food. Same story with my wife, from a family of 6 kids and stay-at-home mom with low-salaried dad. There was less money being stolen in the form of taxes, fees, and regulations that reduce effective buying power.
