FORT LAUDERDALE— A woman was rendered unconscious from a choke hold by one of her alleged victims while committing a burglary and battery on Saturday, authorities said.

LaToya Haynes, 28, forced her way into a residence where she used to live, took belongings and struck a 65 year old woman in the face with a cane, according to a police report.

I've seen several similar quotes. One I believe came from the moonshiner Popcorn Sutton that went something like, "Never try to steal from an old redneck, he has nothing to lose and will jest keel yur azz."

What a fractured sentence. Hard to tell which person "her" and "she" indicate.

But dissecting it, it appears the thief, Haynes, struck the older woman and then mounted a younger woman and struck the younger woman multiple times, before SOMEONE, put Haynes into a choke hold.

Sounds like Haynes should not have let her attention stray from the old woman.
