But if a perp DOES steal a weapon and use it to commit a crime, who do you think will receive the blame? My bet would be on the gun owner - for not securing his/her weapons well enough.

It’s only a matter of time before 1) a weapon is stolen and used to commit a crime or 2) an attempted theft results in bodily harm to either the gun owner or the thief.

I truly think this is the intent, then they can say, "hey, criminals want guns, they'll do anything to get them, so we take the guns from the legal gun-owners, and the criminals have no guns to steal! Bazinga!"

That will be their twisted logic.
