During the dying days of his four decade rule, Libyan dictator Muammar Gaddafi cast an ominous prophecy. If his regime fell, jihadists would subjugate northern Africa, inflicting widespread violence and terror.
“Al-Qaeda considers all the people to be infidels,” Mr. Gaddafi declared in a speech weeks before NATO began its military intervention in Libya. “They deem all people their enemies. They know nothing but killing.”
The Islamists would pour in from Afghanistan, Algeria, and Egypt, he warned, saying, “These are beasts with turbans.”
Now, with France locked in a battle with extremists in Mali; with al-Qaeda-linked groups carrying out a massive hostage taking in Algeria, and with Britain, Germany, and France telling their citizens to leave Libya because of an unspecified threat, the man many considered mad may not have been so crazy after all.
The irony is, he was right,” said Christian Leuprecht, Royal Military College and Queen’s University political studies associate professor.
“Here we have a situation that’s out of control,” said Abdel Kerim Ousman, Royal Military College political science associate professor. “Gaddafi actually said, if you want to destroy [Libya], the result would be the taking over by the jihadists.”
While Mr. Gaddafi may have been right, many blame the West for not anticipating what would happen after the fall of Libya.

Does the media excoriate Obama for not securing Libya's weapons the way they went after President George W. Bush for not securing all of Iraq's weapons?

With all due respect, does it matter? Hillary and Obama never have work another day in their lives. They can command speaking fees (when out of public office), get book advances, be on TV, etc.
They have money and access to whatever amount they want. We should concentrate more on how the long-term (and even short-term) interests of this country are being destroyed.
If it were only about money I would be happy. It is about regime change that is in no-ones interests but those who would see a Caliphate across North Africa, at first, then Southern Europe and, finally, across all Europe. A Socialist Caliphate at that.
What is so shocking is that Obama and Clinton have done a 180 degree shift in American Foreign Policy without stating any goals or even declaring it. They are enemies of Israel and friends to those who would overthrow any semblance of freedom or democracy in politics and force Sharia Law on us all.
Obama is a perfect storm for this area and has blood on his hands. He committed acts of war against these peoples without the OK of Congress but rather with the OK of the UN, along with the British and French. If Bush had done the same they would have been screaming about war crimes etc but Bambi gets a free ride and they fawn over him like he is the second coming.
One can only draw the conclusion that he is a Muslim and one that is happy to use Sharia to further the goals of Socialist Islam.

The result was anticipated perfectly by Obama and his handlers. This is the perfect outcome for those who want to spread chaos and provide for an Islamic takeover of countries in North Africa and the Middle East. These are the birth pains of the Greater Caliphate. Obama will be hailed as a Muslim who lead the assault on the West.

It’s tough to figure out his mind. The only thing that I can think of is simply PURE IDIOCY in these areas. But Bush wasn’t much better...he too thought that the “Ibrahim Lincoln’s” would appear out of nowhere in Iraq was a bit annoying too. The bottom line is that there will be a dictator...simply because the only way to avoid it is to have a public that won’t tolerate it, and that doesn’t happen there.
As far as the president...I would agree except that he keeps droning the bastards in Pakistan and Yemen. He doesn’t seem to have a problem taking them out - but then a bit to the west, he’s installing them in power. That’s why I think they’re simply clueless here.

We wined and dined them, trained them to fly large jet aircraft and they turn around and killed thousands of our brothers and sisters while smashing the economy.

Those in government threw out the red carpet to tens of millions of people to enter the country illegally. As the tax payers stand gawking while they are forced to pay for their housing, food stamps, healthcare, while they choke off our social services, schools, jails you name it...
