Progressive Group Mounts Racist Attack Against Mitch McConnell’s Wife
The Blaze ^ | Feb. 26, 2013 | Mytheos Holt

Posted on 02/26/2013 7:28:56 PM PST by Republican Wildcat

Liberals may often accuse conservatives of being racist for making particular criticisms of Obama, but at least one liberal group appears to be more than willing to delve into actual racism when it comes to opposing a prominent Republican. The hitch? They’re not attacking the politician himself in this case. They’re attacking his wife.

The politician in question is Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.), who happens to be married to former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao. Chao, who is ethnically Chinese, but was born in Thaiwan, has been a fairly quiet figure relative to McConnell and hasn’t been known to lobby her husband on behalf of particular causes related to Chinese interests at all. In fact, given her Thaiwanese origin, she’d be far less likely to do so.

However, that hasn’t stopped the liberal grassroots group Progress Kentucky from mounting a series of scurrilous attacks against Chao (and by extension, McConnell) that rely on innuendo and xenophobic conspiracy theories. WFPL Louisville reports:

For months, the liberal super PAC Progress Kentucky has attacked McConnell and held demonstrations at his offices and home.

Recently, the group turned its attention to McConnell’s wife, former Secretary of Labor Elaine Chao, with a focus on her race.

In a Feb. 14 Twitter message, Progress says: “This woman has the ear of (Sen. McConnell)—she’s his wife. May explain why your job moved to China!”

The Tweet links to a website run by conspiracy theorist and radio host Jeff Rense, alleging Chao, who was born in Taiwan, discriminated against American workers during her tenure.

That’s extremely mild compared to the way they attack Michelle Malkin on twitter.

Michelle Malkin is an amazing individual. I don’t recall ever being disappointed or surprised by her point of view.

I am truly fed up with the Politics of Personal Destruction, honed to perfection by the Clintons and ramped up on steroids by the Obama Machine. We may have to get into the gutter with the scumbags to fight our coming battles. Disgusting!

Is she a lady boy from Thailand or a woman from Formosa? The former wouldn’t surprise me giving the RINO in question.

I asked her on twitter how she deals with it. She said that for every nasty racist/sexist attack, she knows that a liberal somewhere sees it and slips a little further to the right.

She’s a true rock.

I have had a few questions myself..for years..

"The McConnell Center is an endowed institution created in 1991 by U.S. Senator Mitch McConnell, and the University of Louisville. ... internships, meeting with influential policy makers and the opportunity to study abroad in China . . . ."

What is that about? Are Senator McConnell and wife another Senator Feinstein and husband?

Why the hell is the windbag McConnell still in office?

He said his #1 job was to make sure Obama was NOT re-elected.
#1 job, number 1.

Party of losers. Windbag losers.

I agree: They should beware of Sen McConnell’s wife: Why, she is probably in cahoots with Sen DiFi’s husband, who does big biz with the ChiComs.

.... Oh, we are aren’t supposed to connect THOSE dots, right? Like: How DiFi is promoting the ChiCom agenda for the disarmament of the US populace, and all?

Hello Senator Ashley Judd.

Not that I have a love of McConnell but divide and conquer seems to be working very well for the rats.

When a new marxist/progressive group appears under the guise of the Democrat Party, do as one commentor at the original article said, “provide names, addresses, etc.” of everyone associated with the group.

If you are going to counterattack the Left, you need to know the “Who” to attack.

Publish them here at FreeRepublic. I can guarantee that people will pick up on them and begin to expose them for the leftist radicals and smear artists.

Hello Senator Ashley Judd.

Not that I have a love of McConnell but divide and conquer seems to be working very well for the rats.

Run a Liberal McConnell...with a wife in cahoots with the Communist Chinese, and supporting Liberal Free Trade with Communist China....and Cletus T Judd could beat McConnell

Contrary to the Liberal GOP spin....which claims they lost because Hispanics did not vote GOP because the GOP will not give Illegals Amnesty...the GOP lost because Obama and the Dems tagged Romney on his support for Free Trade with Communist China....which cost him a number of Rust Belt states. McConnell and Mao, er Chao, are going to hoisted by their Liberal Free Trade pittard by the Dems in a state suffering from economic problems

But, hey, lets keep listening to Karl Rove....
