Juan Williams’ plagiarism problem
Salon ^ | Mar 7, 2013 | Alex Seitz-Wald

In a case of apparent plagiarism, Fox News pundit Juan Williams lifted — sometimes word for word — from a Center for American Progress report, without ever attributing the information, for a column he wrote last month for The Hill newspaper.

Almost two weeks after publication, the column was quietly revised online, with many of the sections rewritten or put in quotation marks, and this time citing the CAP report. It also included an editor’s note that read: “This column was revised on March 2, 2013, to include previously-omitted attribution to the Center for American Progress.”

But that editor’s note mentions only the attribution problem, and not the nearly identical wording that was also fixed.

In a phone interview Thursday evening, Williams pinned the blame on a researcher who he described as a “young man.”

Juan Williams is a far left hack who never had an original thought in his life. I realize Fox has him for balance and because PBS fired him but he’s an idiot. They should at least look for liberals with piece of a brain. I change the channel whenever his moronic visage pollutes my TV.

What happened? Did the White Hut sue him for plagiarizing their talking points faxes?

He’s an idiot, as anyone who has ever seen him on Fox News knows all too well.

Hell, The Hill can’t fire him, since they made so much hay over their hiring him after he was fired by NPR.
Same with Fox.

Juan Williams is pretty untouchable, since he is their monument to diversity and fairness.

This “Center for American Progress” report, is a well known part of one of many Political Action Commities designed for Washington influence peddling. In other words, a completly BIASED report. I’m sure this offended editor made a careless ommission of these facts and isn’t that ....naive, to put it nicely.

“The Center for American Progress — which has emerged as perhaps Washington’s most influential idea factory in the age of Obama — is launching a major new war room, to be staffed by nearly a dozen people, that will focus on driving the White House’s message and agenda, I’m told. ... The new war room - which is called Progressive Media - represents a serious ratcheting up of efforts to present a united liberal front in the coming policy wars. The goal of the war room will be to do hard-hitting research that boils down complex policy questions into usable talking points and narratives that play well in the media and build public support for the White House’s policy goals. ... The war room - a joint project of CAP Action Fund and Media Matters Action Network — will be headed by well-known liberal operative Tara McGuinness, who worked on John Kerry’s presidential campaign and was a major player in the anti-war movement during the Bush years.”

Think of all the liberal talking heads who would be gone if they had to come up with their own thoughts and not just read DNC/0Bama talking points....it would be...heaven and CNN/MSNBC/ABC/CBS etc would cease to exist.

Meanwhile, we have GOPe “leaders” attacking everything any conservatives do, making sure that any right leaning message is shattered and splintered by the time it hits the airwaves, further complicated by the headlines of party infighting....

So Juan plagiarized the researcher who plagiarized CAP?

"Williams pinned the blame on a researcher who he described as a “young man.”

What a low-life, blaming it on the hired help. You put your by-line on it Juan, man up.

Pundits like Williams are not writers. They are presenters of “news” and talking points, with the help of assistants. All pundits function them same way. CAP just wants to discredit FOX news, and slandering Williams with the term Plagerism is a means to an end.

I think you have described the “Juan” deal to a tee.
Once he figured out he was bullet-proof, he was free to go pure racist in favor of anything holder’s people and against anything common sense. Brit Hume was the last to call juan out and since his knighthood, Brit is rarely scheduled on same timeslot.

Rush’s old friend, the head of FNC, is a past-master at marketing FNC to whichever group can deliver the higher viewer rating. Obviously, we are no longer “that” group.

This is the Obama political CAP "war room" in action. This is how they destroy people or entities that get in the way of their agenda. I think it is facsinating.

Maybe this is what they didn't like (it's prophetic Juan):

Yes, maybe this is a nasty White House warning to reporters, even liberal ones, who are straying from the plantation. I would be getting heevy jeevies right now if I were them. haha

Juan Williams strayed from the plantation. He was made an example of.

Remember FRiends, this accusation originates from the Obama political CAP “war room”. This is how they destroy people or entities that get in the way of their agenda. It is facsinating to see this modern day Goebbel’s like machinery in action. This is probably a warning to all journalists who stray from the plantation.

The fact that the media presents a report from CAP as legitimate, is as newsworthy and telling, as what amounts to a case study of 21st Century propaganda. http://www.sourcewatch.org/index.php?title=Center_for_American_Progress

About three minutes into the first class of my eleventh grade English, the teacher announced anyone she caught engaging in plagiarism would receive an F for the full six-week marking period.

I made something of a fool of myself by belly-laughing: it seemed axiomatic to me no one could be that dumb.

After giving me the evil eye, she said she caught someone copying material from library books at least once a year, and she wasn't kidding about handing out Fs. As matters developed, she handed out Fs publicly, and read source and copy aloud so we'd all realize what had been done.

Two college-bound kids I knew actually were that dumb.

For a short time after his being exiled, Juan actually seemed to not blindly side with the left. Sure didn’t take him long to revert back to all pro-lib and go far out on limbs to cover up and cook up any excuse for the “cause”.
