“As long as there is a need for certfied legal service with hard copy , and package service tthat will deliver to every US address plus APO/FPO, the USPS is not obsolete.”

The demand for certain services may not be obsolete but the business model (USPS) for delivery of said services is obsolete, broke. Why not privatize? Perhaps allow competitors to utilize privately owned or paid for mail boxes as an example. There are several possibilities if the government would just get out of the way.

Private companies can go on strike, or go out of business. When you forbid them from doing so, they become quasi-government agencies like it is now. I would almost prefer to make it all gov. like it was for 160+ years, and get them out of the junk mail business. It might still atrophy, but it would still have a role.

It is a Constitutional issue, as the Fed has the control over the mail system. We are screwed.

Why not privatize?

Amend the constitution.
