Rubio joins GOP colleagues for Obama dinner at White House
The Hill ^ | Daniel Strauss

Posted on 04/10/2013 4:17:58 PM PDT by JohnPDuncan

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) joined President Obama for his second closed-door dinner with Senate Republicans on Wednesday.

Rubio had been invited but had not committed for most of the day of the dinner. The Florida Republican's office said immigration meetings might get in the way of him going to the dinner, but later said he would attend.

Besides Rubio, Sens. Lamar Alexander (Tenn.), John Boozman (Ark.), Susan Collins (Maine), Mike Crapo (Idaho), Mike Enzi (Wyo.), Deb Fisher (Neb.), Orrin Hatch (Utah), Johnny Isackson (Ga.), Pat Roberts (Kan.), John Thune (S.D.) Roger Wicker (Miss.) dined with Obama.

Obama's first meeting with Senate Republicans, last month, did not result in any new policy breakthroughs but senators left the meeting feeling more optimistic about possibly brooking a deal on deficit reduction.

After Wednesday night's dinner Obama will have not met with 21 Senate Republicans. They are: John Barrasso (Wyo.), Roy Blunt (Mo.), Thad Cochran (Miss.), John Cornyn (Texas), Ted Cruz (Texas), Jeff Flake (Ariz.), Chuck Grassley (Iowa), Dean Heller (Nev.), Jim Inhofe (Okla.), Mark Kirk (Ill.), Mike Lee (Utah), Mitch McConnell (Ky.), Jerry Moran (Ky.), Lisa Murkowski (Alaska), Rand Paul (Ky.), Rob Portman (Ohio), Jim Risch (Idaho), Tim Scott (S.C.), Jeff Sessions (Ala.), Richard Shelby (Ala.) and David Vitter (La.).

I've had it with Marco. First he ignores Tea Partiers who helped him get elected back in Florida and now this!

Rubio has really grown in office. Before long, he will be fighting Graham for the role as McCain’s Monica Lewinsky.

He counts on us holding our noses again, because when election time rolls around, we always do. Well, I’m not afraid anymore. Let the Democrats do their worst and let’s just get it over with. The Republicans will just make it a longer, slower death.

If they get amnesty through, it won’t even be slower. Amnesty is certain instant death for the GOP.

True. I still don’t know what’s up with the Republicans on that issue. They are delusional if they think they’ll ever get those votes, and what good is access to cheap labor when the left has the power to destroy capitalism?

Last time that Odumbo had the Rhino's over for dinner was when Paul was doing his filibuster. My very own Wisconsin Senator Ron Johnson went and later returned while Paul was still doing his thing. I got so damned mad that Johnson even considered going, I called his office and asked him, “Why he supported Odumbo with TWO standing ovations, while Odumbo was actually picking his pocket”? Odumbo is nothing more than an opportunist that will lie and use anyone to get what he wants. Don't believe that? Watch to see how this next “invite to get screwed” goes. Bring on the popcorn.

The fact that he is participating in this gang of 8, making laws behind closed doors, tells me all I need to know. He is violating the core tenants of our republic. All legislation should be in the open, not in a back room like they did with the obsmacare bill. He is dead to me!!
