Congressman Goes On Berating Rant At Ousted IRS Commissioner And Gets A Standing Ovation

Rep. Mike Kelly (R-Pa.) went on a rant during outgoing Acting IRS Commissioner Steven Miller's testimony before the House Ways and Means Committee on Friday, earning himself a standing ovation at its conclusion.

After an intense line of questioning, Kelly used up the balance of his speaking time by laying into Miller with a nearly three-minute long rant.

"I have to tell you — where you're sitting, you should be outraged. But you're not," Kelly said to Miller, who resigned on Wednesday at the request of the White House.

"The American people should be outraged, and they are. ... This reaffirms everything the American public believes. This is a huge blow to the faith and trust the American people have in their government. Is there any limit to the scope of where you folks can go?"

It’s amazing how much Miller doesn’t know.

This was reminiscent of the Thadeous McCotter from Michigan rants. It was EXCELLENT. Loved it.

After watching on line and then again bits & pieces on America Live with Megyn, I wrote my Senators, both Session and Shelby and my Congresscritter Mo Brooks.

Be careful making it political.

I don’t like this thread title. I don’t consider a frank expression of the facts at hand to be “berating”. The little douche-nozzle got off easy, IMHO.

But what could be done? The IRS thug just lies, and there is no punishment. We need to see some punishment dished out, then the slimes will talk.

I care less about punishment of the individuals, and more about reducing and overhauling the IRS. The next liberal activist will still do this work regardless of what happens to a handful of others who got caught. The whole entity needs to be changed so it physically CANNOT happen again.

1) This is a winning issue with the American people; 2) We need to use this opportunity to reinforce our beliefs that an all powerful government is not a good government. If we let it go that ‘this guy’ or ‘that guy’ got fired or will go on trial, it is a missed opportunity.

The mindless libs on the comment section of BusinessInsider continue to cheer on the IRS. There truly is no hope for them.

This was great.

What next?
If the GOP was smart...

They would take this opportunity to revamp the entire agency (IRS) and the tax code.
Make it much more difficult for them to behave this way, and for the American public to be duped into paying for idiotic programs through the tax code.

Never would they be more popular with the American Public.
If the Senate leadership then passes on dealing with these bills, it can easily be highlighted during the mid term elections.
The senate would at least have to deal with the issue, and so would Obama.

And it would be fun to watch the dems squirm.
I just hope they don’t overplay their hand... cause then the press will retreat into defensive dem mode almost immediately.

Mike Kelly was far too nice to Miller. I doubt most of us would have been so nice to him.

Great Vid
I cheered too
One thing that hasn’t been made clear on this Miller dude
he was the acting director and was leaving that anyway in 2 weeks
so 9dumbo announcing they called for his resignation is stupid
BUT he said he held 2 titles and I bet he isn’t resigning his second title
What BS

The video is a keeper.

In 10/20 years it may be the only memory of what an elected official was supposed to stand for.

I do not think we can escape as the progressives have way too many people in government and sitting on the bench, and if that were not enough, there are enough journalists spiking as many stories as possible so the word truth may only be found in a dictionary.

Berating rant?

He reminded the outgoing IRS Chief at the start of each statement, that he was treating him the same way American taxpayers are routinely and regularly treated by the IRS.
