News Corporation said on Sunday that it had no record of being notified by the Justice Department nearly three years ago of a subpoena for the telephone records of a reporter at its Fox News cable channel [James Rosen].
The company’s chief legal counsel at the time also said that he had never seen material from the government related to the subpoena.

Lawrence A. Jacobs, who was News Corporation’s chief legal officer until he left in June 2011, said he never saw a notification about the phone records.
“I would have remembered getting a fax from the Justice Department,” Mr. Jacobs said in an interview Sunday. “These are not the kinds of things that happen every day.”

If someone isn’t telling the whole truth, or any truth for that matter, it is guaranteed to be the person associated with the us government.
They likely sent a letter, but if it’s a registered letter...some guy in the post department would have signed, and then looked at the addressing if confusing to figure out who should get it.
My humble guess is that he noted some secretary up in the legal area....she’s in retirement mode, and it just got filed, rather than read by any lawyer. Stuff like this happens all the time in big organizations, with confused department headings.
Totally unexpected and unprecedented.
This is what happens when snotty-nosed brats are running the government. Kids should never be given this much power.

I though DOJ had already explained that they had to keep the warrant secret because it involved not only past communications but also potentially years of future communications. Why would the notify Fox?

The article says that Fox news “confirms” that they were notified three years ago about the DOJ getting the emails of Rosen. So now they’re saying they weren’t notified.

Rosen already said he had no notice.

“You didn’t get a check from us this month? I’ll bet it got lost with all that DOJ mail. Ask Eric Holder. Maybe he’s seen our check.”
...but FOX NEWS confirms they were notified? This is one huge MESS!!
