“I would be fine if they took my things, that I understand,” said the man, recovering at home from broken bones above his left eye and bruises too numerous to count.

Well, doesn't sound like what happened to him is too far removed from what he's willing to tolerate.

“I would be fine if they took my things, that I understand,” said the man, recovering at home from broken bones above his left eye and bruises too numerous to count. ---------------------------------------------------------- They did take his things - the ones that really count, if you think about it. And the things the things the thugs took were the things the thugs most wished to deprive him of. That deserves some thought, especially because the thugs obviously got what they wanted but they could have cared less about taking the material things they could steal and sell to provide themselves with monetary gain. We are entering a whole new realm of violence where the rules and rationals don't seem to matter much anymore and random, senseless violence purely for the sake of hatred is replacing the more traditional muggings for the sake of the cash in your wallet. The term Polar Bear Hunting is very appropriate and one of these days the hunters are going to find that Polar Bears are dangerous game and that they bite back. There is a reason there are not many Polar Bears hunted in Texas, and it has nothing to do with the temperature, although it may have a lot to do with the heat.
