no... you heard us, but you are NOT listening!!!I will say that I drove past the local Penny’s yesterday and the parking lot was packed. It is at and-alone location with its own parking lot, so, it looks like a lot of folks are coming back.
Went by there a few months ago and the lot was virtually empty.
Other than WalMart, we have one department store in our entire county - JCP. It was not uncommon for business women to attend a meeting wearing the same clothes. Then JCP stopped stocking women’s sizes to be more hip. What kind of strategy was that?
They’re still doing dumb things....like not putting sale prices on all their items that are on sale. So you don’t know until you get up to the register that it’s a lower price. Well, the higher price will keep people from picking up the item in the first place.

I had a quiet “aside” with a Chik Fil A manager, he said ‘we’re not supposed to talk about it’ when I asked him about that incredible show of support...didn’t want to be seen as ‘spiking the ball’-
He said at his store alone they were up 139% that day.

Well, customers haven’t been returning to my local J.C. Penney. I was in there a week ago; the place was an absolute deserted graveyard, with nary a customer nor employee in sight.
I believe we need to reward people who “see the light” and abandon bad morals. We applaud the new JCP management for dropping the offensive “pandering” ads. We plan to go back and visit Penneys’ again as our small contribution towards “reinforcing” a very good decision.

I decided to go inside and shop at J.C. Penney. It was deserted. I was stunned at the price mark-downs. I purchased a name brand belt, marked normally $25 fro $2.99. I bought my socks at 50% off. I looked at sports jackets, for the heck of it and ended up purchasing a sports jacket for $9.99, that had been marked down from over $125. The store must be on the verge of bankruptcy. My opinion is that they are doing everything possible just to bring in enough cash to make salary and some fixed costs.
This is a store that I use to shop at for decades and just drifted away from. They are not going to be around much longer.

His new way failed totally. He was an idiot who had no clue that his methods would have such a negative effect. The Ellen stuff had some influence but was marginal.
