Paula Deen on 'Today': 'I is what I is,' people make mistakes
The Fox News ^ | 06/26/2013 | Fox News

Paula Deen went on "Today" Wednesday morning to tearfully defend herself against allegations she is a racist, as her multimillion dollar food empire teetered on the brink of collapse.

Recently fired by the Food Network, Smithfield Brands and Caesars Entertainment over her admission in a sworn deposition that she had once uttered the N-word, the emotional celebrity chef thanked the companies who have stood with her and lashed out at her critics.

"I is what I is, and I'm not changing," a teary Deen told host Matt Lauer. "If there is anyone out there that has never said something that they wish they could take back, please pick up that stone and throw it so hard that it kills me."

"There’s someone evil out there that saw what I had worked for, and they wanted it," she exclaimed.

Yes, Paula, it's the liberal progressive left.

“I is what I is” reminds me of Popeye’s “I am what I am.”

“Barack...he’s talking down to black people...telling niggers how to behave”.-Jessie Jackson.

WASHINGTON - In a vulgar tirade caught on tape by Fox News, the Rev. Jesse Jackson said he wanted to “cut his [Barack Obama’s] nuts out” and he accused the fellow Chicagoan of “talking down to black folks” by giving moral lectures to African-Americans, source said Jackson’s shocking quotes were picked up by a hot mic before an interview on health care in Fox’s Chicago studio last Sunday.

Yea... I didn’t see any outcry from the MSM to bury Jessie “the race baiter” Jackson...and his tirade was recent. How many times I hear these black folk talking about “crackers”. It’s all BS from the LEFT.

She courted them shamelessly, though!

If I’m not mistaken, isn’t Paula Deen a liberal who was paling around with Michelle Obama on her show before the election? If so I have little compassion for her, when you lie down with dogs, you get fleas.

Why does democrat senator bobby rush still have a job when he called someone an “elitist white boy?”

and why does chicago teachers union president, Karen Lewis, who blamed “rich white people” for the failure of chicago schools still have a job?

Answer: Because tyrannical PC rules only apply to white people.

It was pathetic that she groveled before Matt Lauer.

That’s why they are already forgiving her. If she were Conservative, forget it.

Paula Deen is a member of the liberal, progressive left.

She was trampled as she was stampeding leftward.

No sympathy for her because she is being destroyed by the same politically correct forces she supported. As my mother would say.......she made her own bed

Paula Dean handled this badly. She should have immediately stated that she regretted using the dreaded 'N-word' at one time in her life (she's 66) and then stopped talking about it. The teary apologies on Youtube and now, on the Today show with snarky, balding Matt Lauer, make her look pathetic.

I'm not a 'foodie' and have never watched Paula Dean but I assume she is a wealthy woman. If so, she should stop apologizing and 'move on'. If she loses some sponsors/endorsements, so be it. At her age she can retire or simply go back to a smaller audience and never talk about this rubbish, again!

I imagine she must be in shock knowing that she's part of obamanation and none of them came to her rescue, in fact, they got her fired, wow, what a rude awakening for her. I did not like the way she groveled during her apology last week, my God, it was painful to watch.

When I was a kid we used the dreadful banned only blacks can say it word, no one was offended then, people shrugged it off just like us Italians shrugged off the word "wop" or "guinea", no one blinked an eye at "chink" or "harp" or "spic", good God, apparently a lot of people were born without spines.
