There is politically correct bigotry and non-acceptable bigotry.
Celebrity chef Paula Deen is a celebrity no more. She was fired from the Food Network for a racial slur, the N-word, which she uttered some time ago. She has since apologized for those hurtful remarks against African-Americans. Deen has begged for forgiveness. Nothing doing. Life will never be the same for Paula Deen.
Life is much sweeter for celebrity author Alice Walker, who remains kosher despite remarks hurtful against the Jewish people. She has made no apologies. None necessary. Despite her festering grudge against Israel and her acrimony against Jewish people in general, life is good.
A new book of hers has just been published and already she has book tours lined up across the country. She is being praised and applauded.
No forgiveness necessary for Alice Walker.
In this new book of hers, some 80 pages are given to tantrums against the Jewish people. No problem. Who cares? Last Sunday she starred on C-Span.
A few weeks earlier she was honored at the New York’s 92nd Street Y. Her fan-base remains strong and loyal.

There’s a racial double standard because white people allow the double standard to continue. If white people put their collective foot down and weren’t afraid to call black people on their racism, then perhaps something would be done about the unspoken but most ardent racism in America. As long as white people remain afraid to call black people on their racism, then that racism will continue and even grow.

She should have just said “cracker” instead of “nigger”. Then she would have been a hero and doubled all her contracts. And maybe added “Allah Akbar” for good measure.
Same with Jesse “hymietown” Jackson and Hillary Clinton, who was credibly reported to have uttered anti-Jewish slurs. I could go on and on - the crap that came out against Palin, Condi Rice, Clarence Thomas, Michelle Malkin - ANY minority or female conservative. The deck is stacked.

I would have liked to see Paula tough it out and not give her tormentors the satisfaction of seeing her cry and beg.

I’ve defended her somewhat, but I agree. This PC action is out of hand, and she backs the team that loves to use it.
I’ve been told that in the early to mid 30s, PC was rampant in Germany too. I’m not sure if that’s true or not, but it wouldn’t be hard to believe it is so vile.
This has nothing whatsoever to do with what Paula Deen said years ago .. it has to do with the fact that she’s from the South, she’s a Christian, she didn’t vote for Obama, and she critized Michelle Obama (when Michelle was on Paula’s show). The Obama’s hate all those things about her.

Ditto! I wish that celebrities, when caught in these sorts of situations would stop apologizing and start telling their tormentors to go jump off the Golden Gate Bridge.
Have you ever heard a liberal apologize for some sort of slur or for saying something politically incorrect? You haven't? That's because being a liberal means never having to say you're sorry.

She called it like it is. Besides, blacks are the most racist people. The vast majority of them hate whites and use racist terms like “cracka” and “whitey” and “redneck”, not to mention many of them seem to like the term “nigga”.
Four years ago, anybody saying "n*****" here on FR would have been instantaneously banned, and there would have been much outrage. We didn't want to be seen as being like the people on Stormfront.
Now, we don't care. We've been pissed on enough that more and more of us don't care. When things well and truly hit the fan, and a race war starts in earnest, and the black side discovers just what seeds they've sown, we won't care.
Paula Deen campaigned with 0bama in ‘08. She IS an 0bama supporter.
