What is the nature of the Fed's ‘intense pressure’ on these companies? I wonder if it's similar to the time-honored tactic of making them an offer they can't refuse.

Without a Miranda warning, anything you say or do on the internet may be used against you.

Even worse, with your password it makes it even easier for them to impersonate you and frame you for any crime they so choose, in order to lock your @ss up and put you away for political reasons.

Here's a link to the roll call vote on the Amash amendment to end NSA snooping. This is the one that failed 205 - 217. Glad to see my critter John Mica voted in favor of the amendment. Means I won't have to go yell at him during the August recess.

Mine voted in favor as well. I had already spoken to both local offices and his DC office.

The obvious response to this is to NEVER discuss anything via any electronic means that may get you trouble.

I can talk face to face with people and plan just about anything, then carry it out when I need to and not one spec of that information would ever appear on an electronic device.

Go ahead and get my passwords - then log into my credit card accounts and see that all I buy are hotel rooms while on vacation, and maybe dinner once in a while. Get my email password and check out my credit card and utility bills - and see that everything is as expected.

Read all my text messages you want (just random texting going on - get a baseball score once in a while).

I never, ever, EVER write anything in an email, on a text message, or on a posting anywhere that may incriminate me, or lead one to believe I am doing anything illegal or terroristic.

So if I WAS planning something those discussions happen face to face in a basement with no windows while loud music plays upstairs.

If one is so stupid as to get caught using this stuff, then they deserve it!

Never thought of that, but you are right.

This bunch would do it too.
