JERUSALEM (AP) — Israel's military says it has ordered the closure of the airport in the Red Sea resort of Eilat.
An official in the military spokesman's office said Thursday that the military has instructed the airport to cancel all landings and departures until further notice. She says the decision was made as a result of a security assessment, but did not elaborate. She spoke on condition of anonymity in line with briefing regulations.

In April, it was reported that Israeli planes taking off from Eilat will be armed with anti-missile systems due to the threat of shoulder-carried anti-aircraft missiles that could be fired from the Sinai desert.
The security establishment is aware that terrorists in Sinai have armed themselves with man-portable air-defense systems, or MANPADS. The initial thought was to intermittently close down the Eilat airport, but the decision eventually reached was to arm planes taking off from the airport with anti-missile systems.”

In order to achieve American promises of a “contiguous” Palestine state, Israel is preparing for retreat from the Negev because sparse population makes it difficult to defend. It’s not just a retreat to pre-’67 borders, it’s a retreat to Jewish enclaves as existed before 1948. I wish I was joking.
Thanks for the ping and post! This is very concerning IMHO. BIBi should just come out and tell the world that Obama’s policy of arming jihadis has put Israel in grave danger. That might be enough to break this Benghazi treason wide open IMHO.

It’s what we have been saying all year. Many of the weapons from Libya were diverted by Turkey to the mb in Egypt and transferred to hamas at the Rafah Crossing. Nobody listened.
One can hope. Methinks it will only be if the Senate majority goes Republican. Then, we might see some real movement.
