Look for the Post to make a radical shift to an online paper under the new mangagement, setting off a revolution in the news business for old line papers.

Old line newspapers have tried to adapt to the internet without a whole lot of success because they have failed to commit completely to the new media, maintaining an expensive paper version of their newspaper for an ever dwindling section of the public.

However, the problem he has to solve is that most of us internet browsers don’t want to pay for a subscription to just one or two news outlets. We want to pick and choose between many. Like ebooks, they will have to survive by mass marketing their great news content at a way reduced price.

THE WASHINGTON POST WAS SOLD FOR A PITTANCE OF WHAT IT WAS ONCE WORTH BECAUSE OF ITS CONTENT... PERIOD... END OF STORY!

I tend to disagree, the Post preaches to the beltway choir, and if there is any place in the US that would support their liberal content (outside of NYC) it's the beltway. I think the Post is just another "victim" of technology.

I do not deny what you are saying about print media declining but it is the post and the slimes that manufacture the news on cbsnbccnnabcmslsd etc... and I read the post quite often and it is a rare occasion that they are not just hard core socialist/communist in their slant.

Again I agree on your opinion, but if there’s anywhere that a liberal slant should sell, it’s gotta be the beltway.

The fact that they are imploding tells me that even WITH content that appeals to their audience, technology has made them obsolete.

It is going to be fun watching Mr Amazon stir the hornets nest. Something tells me that some employees will not like what he is going to so and some will lose their jobs. It will probably remain an outlet for marx and engels.
