Leaked Letter: Unsupervised Nurses to Replace Doctors in VA Medical Facilities?
Special Operations Speaks ^ | 8/26/13 | SOS

Is this Obama's plan to fill the Doctor Shortages starting with the Veterans?

SOS obtained this Letter to Department of Veterans Affairs about Nurses taking the place of doctors UNSUPERVISED by doctors in VA Medical Facilities.

"If finalized, this handbook would designate all advanced practice nurses (APRN) within the VHA, including nurse anesthetists, as licensed independent practitioners (LIP) 1 2 who would be required to function without physician support, supervision or oversight."

Your Master will allow al Qaeda and Moslem Brotherhood doctors
for US veterans. As in Europe, they will not wash their hands
for dhimmis, however."

He’s headed towards the Cuban solution. You give them two years of medical training and call them doctors.

Reminiscent of the chinese communist revolution where the hospital janitorial staff were told they were now physicians and the medical staff had their eye glasses crushed and were sent to grow melons in the gobi desert.

you would think even communists would not be so stupid as to take trained doctors away...

Their goal can only be to kill people

Evil, pure and simple

Nurses replace Doctors ...Obama screws Veterans AGAIN!

They pretty much have already... You rarely see a physician on a first contact. You go through a gauntlet of physician assistants, advanced practice nurses, before you are advance to a board certified medical doctor... usually from overseas.

Generally, when yo go to the doctor now you see a PA.
The give meds, shots, write prescriptions, perform simple surgeries.....what is the difference?

They have been doing this for a while now for VA care (at least in Florida) you almost never see a doctor unless you need to see a specialist. Almost all appointments are set for a nurse first and if the nurse doesn’t think you need to see a doctor you won’t see one.

I, unfortunately, went to a clinic for awhile wherein you only see the doctor if you requested so or you had serious problems. I was always seen by a Nurse Practitioner, for which the claim was that I paid less for an office visit. But over the two years I went there, the cost kept going up and up and up.

Also, they would only issue a maximum 90 day supply of any given prescription (and sometimes a lot less!), causing you to go back for another office visit every three months just to get a prescription refill authorization (and an office visit charge, of course!).

I now go to another clinic where I see a real doctor all the time and he issues me 6 month prescriptions and even gives me some freebies every now and then.

It's probably the wave of the future, seeing a Nurse Practitioner instead of a real doctor (no knock on NP's, most know their stuff and are nicer than a lot of doctors!).

PAs are required to practice under a doctor’s supervision. A relative of mine is trying to determine her career path .... she is choosing PA rather than NP (nurse practitioner) who can have their own practice ... no doctor supervising. “Unsupervised nurses” could be nurse practitioners .... should not be just registered nurses ... but then again, when has Obama(care) ever followed the rules.

For what it’s worth, a member of my extended family who is currently enrolled in nursing school has been receiving training on how to give a complete physical.

I typically see my nurse every 3 months and the doctor, from Nigeria, every 6 months. It’s been this way for several years. And to tell the truth, I’m okay with it. My nurse is great. And I like my doctor.

If I go into the emergency facility I usually see a PA.

Anesthesiologists are guarding their turf. Nothing more. There is nothing Anesthesiologists would like better than to crush Nurse Anesthesia. Military has been using them for years. Training is a bitch. I would trust a Nurse Anesthetist as much as a doc. Problem is they are taking money away from the doc’s because they are cheaper!!

the doctors are iffy enough already, now the solution is less than iffy?!?

bad enough arguing with doctors but now unsupervised nurses with ‘doctor powers’. nightmare in the making.
