CNSNews.com) -- Secretary of State John Kerry got into a heated exchange with Rep. Jeff Duncan (R-SC) while appearing before the House Foreign Affairs Committee Wednesday urging members to approve President Obama’s request to use military force in Syria.
After Kerry made the administration’s case for military action in response to the use of chemical weapons by Syrian President Bashar Assad’s regime, Duncan responded: “I can’t discuss the possibility of U.S. involvement in Syria’s civil war without also talking about Benghazi. The administration has a serious credibility issue with the American people due to the unanswered questions surrounding the terrorist attack in Benghazi almost a year ago. “When you factor in the IRS targeting of conservative groups, the AP and James Rosen issues, Fast and Furious and NSA spying programs, the bottom line is that there is a need for accountability and trust-building from the administration,” Duncan said.
“Section four of your testimony today says this is about accountability. Sure it is. The American people deserve answers about Benghazi before we move forward with military involvement in Syria's civil war. Holding up a photo of Navy SEAL Tyrone Woods, who was killed in the Benghazi attack along with U.S. Ambassador Christopher Stevens and two other Americans, Duncan added, “The same administration that was singlely so quick to involve the U.S. in Syria now was reluctant to use the same resources at its disposal to attempt a rescue of four brave Americans that fought for their lives in Benghazi.”
Duncan also asked the secretary of state if there had been "any transfers of weapons from Libya to Syria."
A clearly irritated Kerry responded: “We talking about people being killed by gas and you want to go talk about Benghazi and Fast and Furious.” “This is not about getting into Syria’s civil war.” Kerry responded. “This is about enforcing the principle that people shouldn’t be allowed to gas their citizens with impunity. And if we don’t vote to do this, Assad will interpret from you that he’s free to go and do this any day he wants to. That’s what this is about, not getting involved in Syria’s civil war. “So let’s draw the proper distinction here, congressman.
We don’t deserve to drag this into another Benghazi discussion when the real issue here is whether or not Congress is going to stand up for international norms with respect to dictators that have only been broken twice until Assad: Hitler and Saddam Hussein.” -

The STUNNING, absolutely shameless, unconscionable hypocrisy of John F’n Kerry appearing before Congress to ask for a ‘yes’ on sending our men into harm’s way (do you really think Obama won’t end up with boots on the ground?) and saying “trust us” with this after Obama left Americans to die while he went to bed early (with whom is still a question) and then flew to Vegas the next day is just surreal.
“Trust us” after they lied (still lying) about that d@mned video? “Trust us” after F & F, the IRS being sicced on Americans who disagree with Leftist Obama? “Trust us” after the NSA is found to be spying on everybody, not just terrorists (and Congress was lied to about it)? “Trust us” when they are cramming Obamacare, which Americans are overwhelming against and is destroying our economy/healthcare, down the country’s throat, because it’s necessary for Obama’s Ego & Legacy? “Trust us” because every time there is a crisis, Obama ends up on a golf course somewhere? “TRUST US”? As Huckabee said last night .... you can’t lose what you don’t have .... with this regime, they have no credibility so there is none to lose by Obama or anybody else, including Congress if they dare to vote ‘yes’.
Notice how Kerry linked Benghazi and fast and furious....both having to do with weapon transfers over borders. Hunter asked about Benghazi. Kerry knows damn well that Lybia wa being used as a weapons transfer point in some covert get the arms to the rebels dictum from the jerk in charge.
So, according to Kerry’s reasoning, if Assad lined civilians up and cut their throats, that would be OK? We wouldn’t worry about that?
The dumbasses in the Obama administration understand how chemical weapons work. Why don’t they tell the American public how they work? Because it wouldn’t help their argument. The Democrats continue to use fear to motivate Americans.

Someone please explain how the U.S. intervention and enforcement (however useless) of certain principles and civil rights is NOT getting involved in Syria’s civil war?
Kerry getting more and more defensive and making more and more of a fool of himself. Saddam Hussein used chemical weapons? I thought he never had them and Bush lied. Does Kerry really want to go there?
It is all over ABC today. I guess one of the workers at the State Department is discussing Benghazi.
I think if we really knew the truth of Benghazi, nobody would allow our current regime, to war anywhere.
He warns not to bring up Benghazi. Why not? Perhaps he should have been asked why one year after Benghazi and twelve after 9/11 is obama trying to rain missiles down on Syria.
Why just one day before September 11th is he going to stand before the American people and lie about his reasons to slap Syria with a few missiles. Syria had nothing to do with the murders at the WTC or Benghazi, so why is he so insistent on drawing us into war when we have no security issues with Syria. He wants to aide Al Qaeda and the brotherhood. His next excuse will be that the perpetrators of Benghazi are in Syria and by attacking he will kill those that committed the atrocities.
Kerry is an ARROGANT boot licking moron who doesn't care how many of our troops die because his orders are final, he has the power (he thinks). Now, one day before the saddest and most devastating day this country has seen, the moron in the WH will give a speech telling us why more Americans should die, only this time they will die defending the very savages that have murdered Americans, and intend to murder more.

Benghazi details must be worse than I thought if Obama has to start a Middle East war to cover it up.
What’s that saying we use around here: “If you’re taking flak, you must be near or over the target”.
