Posted on 09/08/2013 11:24:58 AM PDT by Whenifhow
Hicks who had a brief phone conversation only hours before with Stevens before the line went dead was informed of his death by Libyas prime minister.
Hicks said he doesnt understand why more military resources were not sent to Benghazi after he notified State Department officials in Washington that the consulate was under attack.
I dont know exactly what was available And I still dont quite understand why they couldnt fly aircraft over to Benghazi, he said.
When I was a kid, I grew up watching western movies the cavalry always came, Hicks said in an interview taped Friday for This Week.
I just thought that they would come, he said.
Sadly I think that Ambassador Stevens and Sean Smith, maybe not. Ty [Woods] and Glen [Doherty], of course, were killed in the mortar attacks that took place eight hours after the initial attack Its possible they could have been saved, I think, Hicks said referring to the two former Navy SEALs working as CIA contractors in Libya.
Hicks, who has given Congressional testimony about events in Benghazi, is the only American official who was in Libya during the attack that has spoken publicly about what happened and told Stephanopoulos he has been punished for his openness by the State Department.
I dont know why I was shunted aside, put in a closet, if you will, he said.
Finally, Hicks told Stephanopoulos how those who died that night in Benghazi can be honored.
We cant forget them, and we need to make sure that those people who are going out
into the world on our behalf have the tools that they need and the resources they need to do the job that theyve been asked to do for the people of the United States, Hicks said.

FREE THE BENGHAZI 40!!!!
Our present government doesn’t appear to understand the concept of two-way loyalty.
If they expect us to be loyal to our “leaders,” they must in return by loyal to those who follow them.
Most particularly, not abandoning them to torture and death for political advantage. Or for that matter any other reason.
I believe it wouldn’t have been at all difficult to obtain volunteers for a rescue mission, if it was deemed too dangerous to order men in.
And WHY the HELL did Hillary take away the SECURITY that he BEGGED for???
Where was OBAMA that night???

Good questions! Watch this exchange from Fox News Sunday:
Juan Williams and Karl Rove Clash Over Benghazi Scandal - Fox News Sunday - 9/8/13
The SEALS have been betrayed by their own government so many times that I think every one of them deserve a MOH. I fear the regime currently running the country believes that there is such a thing as being “too patriotic”. A regime that also believes that “too much” liberty and freedom is a bad thing.
Juan is a rabid Obama hack. I can barely listen to his idiotic liberal obama butt kissing rants.
