In Russia, politics and nationalist pride are the basis of Putin’s anti-American turn

MOSCOW — First, Vladimir Putin accused Hillary Rodham Clinton of inciting protests against him at the end of 2011.

The next fall, the Russian president threw the U.S. Agency for International Development out of his country. Then he decided civic groups that get U.S. financing must be foreign agents.

By the end of last year, Putin decided Americans had become unfit to adopt Russian children. This summer, he decided to harbor Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency document leaker, despite strenuous U.S. objections.

And ever since the Syrian conflict began, Putin has thwarted President Obama’s attempts to get the United Nations to intervene.

Only in a twisted alternative universe are these actions “anti-American”! He is actually standing up for American ideals... at least the ones we used to stood for.

Like yes, Putin doesn’t want Russian children to be shipped off to the USA to be molested by homosexual couples. In Looney Liberal land, this is anti-American?

Maybe he’s not anti-American. Just anti-Obama?

Is Washington Post hiding the truth about Putin not allowing Americans to adopt? Or simply he refused to let Gay Americans to adopt?

“First, Vladimir Putin accused Hillary Rodham Clinton of inciting protests against him at the end of 2011.”

(As she did)

The next fall, the Russian president threw the U.S. Agency for International Development out of his country.

(Smart move)

Then he decided civic groups that get U.S. financing must be foreign agents.

(As WE should be doing with the Moslem Brotherhood and Saudi money flowing to guys like Norquist, and half the congress, the Clintons with the Chinese)

By the end of last year, Putin decided Americans had become unfit to adopt Russian children.

(After that woman just put an 8 year old on a flight to Moscow, like she was returning a TV to Walmart. After we refuse to guarantee that no kids are given to homos. After homo marriage sweeps our states and military.)

This summer, he decided to harbor Edward Snowden, the National Security Agency document leaker, despite strenuous U.S. objections.

(because he exposed to the American people that the NSA was flipping the finger to the Constitution, and has become the most invasive internal spy agency the world has ever seen, including the Stasi)

And ever since the Syrian conflict began, Putin has thwarted President Obama’s attempts to get the United Nations to intervene.

(intervene,,, on the behalf of Saudi Sunnis and Al Qeida insurgents who kill Christians and want to install sharia law. The same branch of islam that bombed Boston)

As far as I can see, Putin is protecting his national interests and being quite reasonable. I cannot fault his reasoning in a single one of the above-listed examples provided by the newspaper excerpted from.

The fact that Russian children need to be adopted from a country that is considered a major world power speaks volumes about what a shithole Russia really is.

More like money.

Seriously people this was all about natural gas, the new wave. We're rapidly gearing up to ship it to Europe for a lot less than Putin is making them pay him for it.

They closed adoptions to our country because we killed so many children adopted here. I mean the adoptive parents killed the adopted children.

If Putin's pro-Russian policies are seen by the NYT as anti-American, so be it.

Maybe it is difficult for a paper that supports Obama's policies to recognize that other countries are involved in promoting their own self interest.

Putin’s acting as anyone with any sense would expect him to; like a Russian communist, ex-KGB agent. America has elected Steve Urkel president, and the ex-KGB agent is exploiting it. Hillary and Urkel thought they could make nice with an absurd ‘restart’ gesture and by showing weakness, and Putin reacted as any predator would.

To get points with the Russian people—put down America, a land the people were raised to hate and see as nothing but defects, racism, and out of control greed and capitalism. To them they see, and expect, nothing good from the USA.
To get points with the American Media (for fame and wealth and attention) put down Sarah Palin. It works to get jobs and a slot on TV, or parts in a movie. You can also put down Tea Party, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh, or any other thing they see as the problem. Write a book with the title ‘A Bullet for Sarah Palin’ and you will get backing and publication from the left for your Free Speech Rights. BUT Try to write a book about an imaginary assassination of the president—A Bullet for Obama—and be crushed, imprisoned, IRS investigated etc... Its just the way things are in 2013.
