I knew a lot of this could be traced back to the parents preferring one sex to another. What a terrible thing to say to a little girl “if only you had been a boy”. Her parents should have thanked the Lord above that he gave and blessed them with a little girl. Now because of their pride and arrogance they have lost that little girl forever.

My first thought about a bedroom over the garage was of a detached garage with a bedroom loft.
But the alternate case would be a home where the upstairs living space includes the space over the garage. When my parents built their home in 1931, their English Tudor style house was designed for 3 bedrooms. But my father, being a “good Catholic” (ha) knew they would need a fourth bedroom eventually as back then all Catholic families had about 6-10 kids. So he told the builder to design a fourth bedroom over the single stall garage. It turned out to be the largest of the bedrooms excluding the master bedroom. The room over the garage had windows on three sides and was always bright and sunny. eventually three girls shared that room (with one double bed and a rollaway bed).
We loved our room over the garage.

I think it's important to highlight how this all came to be.
And it unfolded not because of the parental mistreatment of the child but due to the left's indulging of adult mental illness.
It is this worldview which celebrated this person's "human right" to act out their insanity-- to their eventual destruction. Worse, in a real sense, they were instrumental in their destruction.

Yes, the family background of abuse is usually a factor. There is also a type of contemporary parent who subtly encourage transsexual behaviour in their children, because they want to be a part of this social fashion.
Like you, I just do not understand how people can be rejecting of the precious children who love them, and need their love and approval.
But in this horrific case, it goes much further. This woman was abused and then murdered by the medical system.

Mental illness sucks. Enabling it is even worse. Once upon a time, doctors recognized this aberrant behavior as the mental illness it truly is.
Now, they play into it either to make money off of it, or because of their own warped political agenda, or both.
Self-mutilation is never normal behavior and never will be.
Sounds like a Belgian version of Doctor Kevorkian.

A girl who needed psychological treatment for her illness was instead pandered to and is now dead.
This poor woman was neglected and abused by a system that deluded itself into thinking its actions were helping her.

Now, the psychiatrists/psychologists become part of the enabling chain for mental illness, instead of helping to resolve it.
