Truth Revolt leafs boycott of Ritz crackers for sponsoring Al Sharpton
The Blaze ^ | October 7, 2013 | Eddie Scarry

Truth Revolt, the right’s answer to Media Matters for America, fully launched Monday with a petition to get MSNBC host Al Sharpton kicked off the air. The group’s Editor-in-Chief Ben Shapiro writes:

"Sharpton doesn’t dislike all 'crackers.' One of the companies that has run commercials on Sharpton’s show is Ritz Crackers, owned by Mondelez International. Mondelez gave TruthRevolt this statement: “At Mondelez International we demonstrate our commitment to responsible corporate citizenship by participating in programs that best serve a wide range of local communities and their interests and needs. We extend our responsibility to the sponsorship of tasteful, believable television programming and we avoid sponsorship of programs that would be unacceptable in terms of generally accepted social or community standards.”

This Truth Revolt outfit is important. Horowitz and Shapiro are ready to fight the left using the sort of tactics they've used against Rush Limbaugh and others. We NEED to start doing this sort of thing. Like Shapiro says toward the end of the article, Conserrvatives need to stop fighting by the Marquis of Queensberry rules while the left is engaged in bare knuckles fighting!

There are also far more conservatives than there are liberals.

To bad I don’t ‘watch’ MSNBC.

If I did, I could boycott it.

Good idea on ‘picking’ a specific brand name, not the whole company...at least for starters...

I did enjoy RITZ crackers etc, guess I will go to a ‘generic brand’....

NOW you tell me!!!!

I could be 50 lbs lighter had I known that we out-sourced Oreos, Nabisco, Cadbury (well...) etc etc...

Guess we keep making Companies like ‘Twinkies’ run the gauntlet, we can expect EVERYTHING to be made overseas.

I don’t care how ‘friendly’ these countries are - BUT look at the way BO ‘screwed’ over England and we let THEM be in charge of ‘RITZ and OREOS’?....

Never should let another country CONTROL our food supply and distribution etc...

I make my own Ritz type crackers, and I know what’s in them. They taste better too.

The doctrine of Vicarious Liability has been used by $PLC to sue white supremacist groups for causing violence against others -- even if the criminals' only connection is knowing of the white supremacist group IIRC. Example Tom Metzger and this WAR group.

An employer can be charged with legal responsibility for the actions of the employee because the employee can be considered an agent of the employer.

So why not sue the sponsor who makes it possible for what's his name to influence acts of hate and violence even if he has no direct connection with the criminals?

While Sharpton is maybe the biggest scumbag in the country, I’m against any campaigns to kick objectionable people off the air or stop them in other ways. Boycotts are something else, but everybody does that anyway by not watching or patronizing particular shows. However, like the Nazis, the commies, the Klan, Farrakhan, whoever, they have a right to speak. But whenever they speak, they should be countered with the truth.

Interesting group. Need to counter Soros and Media Matters

As long as they are not hijacked by PhonyCons like Rove and Fox News...they can be an effective counter.

My dream is for conservatives to fund a mutual fund buying stocks in companies that sponsor quacks such as Sharpton. With enough shares comes clout. Have the representative appear at the annual meeting and question why the company is sponsoring a show promoting dissent within the general population. Further, introduce a resolution calling for an end to such sponsorship or at least equal sponsorship to a competing venue. If any freepers are reading this and own stock in a company promoting someone like a Sharpton of Rachel Madow, write and ask for an explanation of why. Advertising sponsorship is frequently a reflection of management’s personal agenda. Dems know this and have been working hard to win over management of major companies.

Provide life's delicious moments by sharing the world's favorite brands.

Brands that awaken the senses.

Brighten the day.

Refresh, Renew, Uplift.

We are the people of Mondelez International.

We make the products that make people smile.

We treat. We fuel. We boost the day.

Small delight moments Each building on the next... That remind us, every day is delicious.

Create delicious moments of joy.

That's our dream.

It's what guides us.

The way we look at it, it's not just about lifting a moment with flavor,

It's about lifting the spirit.

Let the Joy Begin.

Mondelez International.

*****AND, here are their "values:"

Our Values

Our Values Guide Us

Inspire trust.

Act like owners.

Keep it simple.

Be open and inclusive.

Tell it like it is.

Lead from the head and the heart.

Discuss. Decide. Deliver.

***

Act like owners? That's a value? Sound like all this crap was written by the "Don't be evil" people.
